Dollhouse

Star Wars Guys in Bathtub

Eleanor has created an art installation. She has titled it: Star Wars Guys in Bathtub. They’re taking a bubble bath, just so you know. I’m so proud of my little conceptual artist!

OK, for real though… The dollhouse? It’s slow-going. E is enjoying playing with all of the furniture, and I’m enjoying the idea of the dollhouse, but construction has yet to begin. The dollhouse kit (sanded and primed, thanks to my mother-in-law) is currently living on my dining room table.

Have you all been following along with the “I’m a Giant!” Challenge? Some of the people playing along on twitter are rocking it, but I’ve noticed a lack of activity from everyone else lately. Perhaps I’m not the only one preparing to make a mad dash toward the finish line.

There’s nothing wrong with the mad dash, that’s some people’s M.O.(ahem) I can’t wait to see it finished though. And I do love the “Star Wars Guys in Bathtub” atta-girl Eleanor! Every child should know their Ewoks from their Wookies,

    Nice installation Eleanor!
I wanted to join along in this challenge and I had a great idea of how I wanted the house to look….in my head. The realization of what the holidays take out of me each year, helped me take a step back before diving in. Good luck and I can’t wait to see the final product!

I’m with Erika. I so wanted to do the I’m a Giant challenge. I’ve got my childhood dollhouse languishing in the top of one of my guest closets, but I knew there was no way it would happen for me at this time of year. I’m really looking forward to seeing all the dollhouses!

Love the star wars in the tub! We actually have a storm trooper living in our dollhouse: http://a-living-space.blogspot.com/2011/10/empire-in-da-house.html. He moved in around the same time as when you posted that honor roll post with the storm trooper family album. I was so surprised when I saw that on your blog, and then this!

You sound like me – I always work better with a deadline! When you’ve got tons of time to get something done it just somehow isn’t as appealing.

Love the bathtub pic. I have a feeling our dollhouse will be inhabited by Star Wars Lego figures on day one. As for the challenge, I have been progressing VERY slowly and will definitely be going the mad-dash-toward-a-minimal-decor route.

I’m working on a big series of paintings and knitted monsters for my kiddos for Christmas and to admit? Totally slow going here too. Like, I look at my canvases and paints, my sack of yarns and their patterns and wander off. I understand. That bathtub scene? Showing it to my husband, the Star Wars geek, stat!

Mine is very slow going. I’m actually kind of stumped right now. I have so much to do and don’t know where to start.
I can’t wait to see what you’ll do with yours, I love your style!

I started off strong,….but really ran out of time and motivation. :( Looking for dollhouse furniture while thrift shopping and hitting the antique shops came up empty! I plan to just keep working on it, because I do enjoy it. I will post what I did get done on the deadline. Love the Star Wars guy in the tub. I want to find a vintage She-Ra doll to live in my house.

It’s tough to make time for it. I hate working so late at night but that’s the only time I have to get it done. Soooo sleepy. I just finished the dining room and I’m about out of steam.
