Jam Band

Eleanor loves the ukulele. “Heetahr? Oookooulaylie?” she asks. Meaning, “hey lady, go grab the ukulele off the highest shelf in your office, and drag that acoustic guitar out of the closet. It’s time for a jam session.”

August gets in on the action sometimes too.

They’re good.

    oh so fun!
a friend of mine says her kids’ daycare has an optional drum circle every day. doesn’t that sound awesome? the whole daycare is driven by open-ended play, so the kids get to choose their activities throughout the day. (seems chaotic, but she says it actually isn’t at all!) apparently, at the end of drum circle, each kid gets to do a solo! ha! the woman who leads it should get paid extra. what a saint.

    Red & White Stripes!!

That is awesome that they are playing together, I’ve got two now and am waiting for the day when the little one (also August) will be old enough to play with his big bro. Hopefully they will be cool enough to have a jam band too, if so, it’s definitely going to be called “The Nap Times.”

Love the red/white stripes! We hide our guitar and bass guitar from the kids and pull them out once in a while for a jam session. They also love the microphone! My ears usually hurt by the end of it, but they are so cute.

I had that shirt in my hand today for August and went with another. I just knew you or Brandon picked up Darth already :).

so cute!! My husband often lets our son sit on his lap and bang on the guitar strings like a drum. (He’s little so it’s not too hard yet…). He also likes to sit with me and play the piano. I didn’t realize just how crazy he was about playing the guitar until we were at someone’s house and he wouldn’t stop looking at the guitar and reaching out for it!

Love it! Our little Eleanor (17 months) also loves her daddy’s guitar and ukelele. He has a pretty nice ukelele and actually bought a cheap one a little while ago so that she could bang on it without hurting it. So much fun to watch!

So cute! My one-year-old loves to “play” our vintage Zippy Zither. He just needs a little black turtleneck and beret or something to wear when he plays. Haha

Thank you. I’ll have to go to the store to find it. Doesn’t appear to be on their website.

We have a similar story – our Eleanor, now almost 7 years old, but after receiving a ukelele on her first birthday in Hawaii, used to say while pointing to our top shelf, “lick a lady!lick a lady!”
