Continuing on with the lighting series, we have some lovely round and airy choices.
I played it cool when we bought our house, asking if the light in the dining room was staying. I recognized it as a Nelson Saucer (#4 above), a light I had always had my eye on. And yes it stayed. A couple of years later, when the original owners came back to see the house, they notice I had moved the light into the living room and remarked that had they known I liked it so much, they would have left the other one they had too, instead of tossing it out (!).

Wow, that’s a really great moodboard! I could have all of the above at home- the tulip one is definitely my fave one!
That is the first time I’ve seen the tulip light! It’s adorable and affordable! Ah.. love an unplanned rhyme:)
Gah to the thrown out Nelson pendant! Can you imagine all of the mid-century modern furniture that ended up at landfills and garage sales when it fell out of fashion?
One of my fantasies is to find a little old lady estate sale FULL of such treasures…
I love the fixtures you’ve got in there, they all look so delicate. There’s a whole bunch more at http://www.curatedonline.co.uk/collections/design-instinct too.
They did whaaaaaaaaat? D: D:
These are all so lovely!
The first one reminds me of those Easter baskets I used to make with my mom where you wrap string around a balloon! I love the feeling or airiness, but I LOVE the tulip pendant!! Simple and feminine!
oooh, number 3 is so pretty! and how cool that you inherited such a stylish fixture from the previous owners. it’s a bit heartbreaking that they threw one out! maybe someone went dumpster diving and found a treasure. :)
I just wanted to mention that the labels on the image (numbers 3 and 4) don’t match the legend.
I love that saucer fixture.
Thanks, I’ve fixed it.
I love that you’ve been posting lighting fixtures for every pricepoint and shape!!! Thanks for the great resources Nicole!!!
My heart lurched when you said they tossed the other one out. Nooooooooo!
I LOVE that first one – so gorgeous!
#1 + #5 are my favorites. although i think it’s pretty swell that you were able to keep the saucer pendant!
#4 is in our lunchroom at work (along with Bertoia chairs) and I’m preeeeeetty sure no one else knows what it is.
I DIY’d #1 and #5 is hanging in my living room! Love that they left the Nelson pendant for you :)
A Nelson fixture as a hand-me-down? So great! I really love that tulip pendant from PB too…would look adorable in my daughters’ shared room.
