It was a good week for blogger home reveals. First up was Bri’s new living room, designed by Emily. Then we had Jordan’s apartment featured by Joanna.
Also, you like how I refer to them all by first name because we’re all besties (obviously)? Blogging is weird.

I had a dream once that I was doing parkour (really well!), and when I sleepily told Brandon about it that morning, I referred to it as “outsiding.” I have thought of it as such ever since, even though I know better. (Just like I know how to pronounce Penelope, but I always read it as rhyming with cantaloupe.)
Anyway, this looks fun!

You know how sometimes you see a headline and you just have to click? “Miley Cyrus twerks in a unicorn onesie.” Yeah.
(Also, I kinda want her short hair. Hers, or Tilda Swinton’s. Brandon doesn’t think I can pull it off, but I believe I can.)

Wrapping paper as wallpaper? Brilliant.

Hey, those Kate Spade pointy-toed sneakers I wrote about are available again!

Need some teeny tiny felt ball garland for your dollhouse? How about miniscule crayons, or a little artist’s paint box? Duh, of course you do.

Spring is here — huzzah! Time to dress your table for the season.

How did my daughter turn out so girly, and my son so boyish?

You should cut your hair!! I didn’t think i could pull it off either because i’m not a 19 year old with an adorable tiny head, but cutting 15 inches off was the best decision ever!
I love having short hair! It’s been a while for me, but the only thing holding me back is the need for frequent haircuts. I’m going about four months between cuts right now, and I don’t want to give that up.
33 dogs? Made my week.
I had a teacher named Penelope who told us a story of being made fun of as a child “Penelope, Penelope, looks like an antelope” and I’ve read it that way ever since.
The DOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for that :)
Wow! Miley can really bust a move….lol
N,
Just wanted to say I love your blog, love your sensibility, love your perspective, love your eye.
Keep doing what you do.

Thank you so much.
You should cut your hair. I did when I was first pregnant 4 years ago and I love it. Everyone told me not to – that it was just the hormones??! But I can’t believe it took me so long to do it. So easy to take care of, (I think) it nearly always looks good and makes me feel like I’m quite cool in at least one area of my life. Do it, I promise you’ll love it.
I would, but as I mentioned above, I don’t want to be beholden to my hairdresser. I love her, but it’s a two-hour time commitment (between driving there and back, plus the haircut itself) that I don’t want to make too often.
You should try Mistress of the Arts on Roosevelt for short hair. 5 minute drive and they’re great.
Yeah, I go to Sparrow in Logan Square, and it’s a good 20-25 minutes to get there. I like Susan there though.
These Honor Roll posts always make my day. I just love what you find on the inter-web. Like wow — Miley can really moveit-moveit.
I’ve never ever heard of parkour until now, and oh my I want to play in that room! Decorated like Mario Brothers? YES PLEASE!
Let me just point out that I pinned 3 photos from Bri’s house tour, I could of kept going but I restrained myself!
The thing about pixie cuts and the like is that you just THINK you’ll be in the salon every 3-4 weeks. If you find someone great, then the short cut looks great, but as it grows out it looks cool too. I have a cute crew cut look that grows out into a cute shaggy look. I go about 8-9 weeks between haircuts. My girl’s great. You should do it though, it takes strong women (like us!) to pull it off. I think you’d look awesome. Welcome to the crowd if you go for it!
I used to follow your writing on the Babble blog but I’m having trouble getting the correct rss feed to my Reader (now Feedly). Do you know the rss link so I can follow using feedly??
I got the Miley cut today and loving it! I do feel like my ears are “all out there”, but I think I’ll get used to it. I feel really cool in this hairstyle, I must say. And my hubby loves it!
