Style: October ’14

I’m not pregnant anymore! Hooray, no more maternity clothes! Well, not quite. I’m at that in-between stage where some of my old clothes fit, but I’ll still be in maternity pants for a while. None of my shoes fit either; fingers crossed, my feet will shrink back down a third time. But hey, at least my wedding ring fits again!

The most exciting addition to my wardrobe lately has been a pair of pants that are slightly dressier than pajama bottoms, so the outfit below is a totally impractical wish list kind of deal. How gorgeous is that pink pleated skirt? And those perfect fall shoes! (The two most expensive items, of course. Maybe I’ll just treat myself to the lipstick and call it good.)

I cannot wait to get out of maternity clothes – and I still have a way to go since I’m, erm, only 24 weeks pregnant. But I’m already planning my spring wardrobe and like you, I’m also hoping that my feet shrink back down because I have some great shoes I’d rather not get rid of!

I had to get rid of about half of my shoes after my first pregnancy, but then I was mostly OK after the second. Not sure what to expect the third time around, but I have some favorites that I’d be pretty sad to get rid of!

i just had my baby on October 3rd and can’t wait to start fitting into my non maternity clothes again. A few shirts are starting to fit but I can’t wait to finally fit into my jeans or basically any other pant than a yoga pant or sweats.

Yep, my tops are starting to fit, but definitely not the bottoms. And I was feeling pretty good about how I hadn’t gained as much weight this time around until I put on some maternity pants from early on in the pregnancy and realized that even those were snug!

Yep I feel you my maternity pants are a bit tight as well. I need to heck out Rhodes pants you are talking about.

Will you check the link to the fancy pj pants? It’s just taking me to the Gap family’s main page.

Odd, it works for me — not sure what’s wrong there. The pants are Women’s Drapey Cropped Pants (27″) from Old Navy. I have them in the cinched bottom version too (“Women’s Drapey Cinched Pants (26-1/2″)”).

I have those pants and LOVE them…

Side note, I always felt bad after I had my babies that I couldn’t just bounce back like all these celebs. My 5 year old goes to school with a celebrity child and said celebrity didn’t bounce back either. Made me feel so good… is that sad?

Good color story! I’ve been on a black and white kick with mute colors…It sure is weird telling that to a stranger. Ha! Oh well, still:) Nice color story.

Beautiful! I love your style posts–I think they’re actually my favorite thing on your blog. The color combination in this one is marvelous. I’ve been reading since Eleanor was a baby and I was pregnant with my first of two girls. Thank you for sharing your joyful sense of style. :)

    I love that skirt!

Ps – it took 2 months post birth before my wedding rings fit.

Gah, I want everything here! The skirt is so sweet, but the shoes would give it the perfect edge. Love your style!
