I was wondering if you know if the fabric you used to make the curtains is still being sold anywhere? I’ve looked everywhere and can’t seem to find it. I know it’s been a while. It would be perfect for my daughter’s curtains too. You have awesome taste.

I was browsing blogs last night and found yours. I started scrolling and your inspiration board caught my eye. I thought to myself, “how funny. I’ve tagged a lot of these things already for my daughter’s new room.” Then when I took a closer look, I realized that our daughters are both Eleanor!!!! Couldn’t have planned that better.
My question is about the paint color. Are the walls pink as well? If so is the wild aster color what you used on the dresser or on the walls? We are hoping to paint my daughter’s dresser on Wednesday and I keep going back in forth – pink or white.

The walls are Wild Aster, but the dresser is a different pink (Aura by Benjamin Moore in “Powder Blush” satin finish).

Adorable room! This is sort of silly and probably not the right forum, but I have that same ceiling fixture (the J.Adler one) and for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to get the glass part off to replace the bulbs. Do you happen to know off the top of your head? :)

I think you have to unscrew the metal part first from the three or four bolts along the top sides, then undo the center bolt from underneath.

We bought that from The Land of Nod a couple of years ago. It was in Eleanor’s nursery before.

Wow. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I feel like Nicole could also be sending a very positive message to her kids. The message is that she can be a mom who works from home to share her creativity with others, while being entrepreneurial enough to find a way to make it pay the bills. It is hard for me to understand how one could think Nicole is sending the message you don’t have to work for things, given that she is running her own business, blogging very successfully, and raising two small children.
Regardless, I don’t render verdicts on people’s mothering skills based on posts about furniture.

CTDC – very well said…I agree with everything you’ve written, from begining with “Wow” to especially the last line about not rendering verdicts on others’ parenting skills. It is one thing to disagree with sponsored posts on a lifestyle blog, but to offer judgment about parenting – how distasteful and disrespectful.
There are many ways to “get paid” for work, and this blog is clearly a lot of work. Why shouldn’t Nicole exchange her work for some sort of compensation? As someone pointed out earlier, it is no different from anyone getting paid for doing a job. I don’t get the impression that Nicole’s enthusiasm for the Land of Nod’s products is in any way false. She is fortunate, in my opinion, to be working with a company who can pay her with goods/services that she and her family can enjoy.
The room is beautiful. I especially love the curtains.

I wonder if you ever worry about what type of message this sends to your children? I have always tried to teach my children that hard work pays off and by working hard you are able to afford the things that you want. How will you ever be able to give this type of advice to your children and be credible. You rely on corporate give aways to furnish your house. You even go so far as to have a company bankroll your daughter’s room. I think you are losing sight of an opportunity to teach your children the right way to do things, even if it takes time, just so you can get everything right now. I have a feeling that one day you will regret this.

But I have worked hard. Growing this blog to a level where I can get opportunities like this has taken an incredible amount of work, and I think that’s something to be proud of. I’m providing for my family, and giving my daughter a beautiful room (that is a mix of new and old, provided and purchased). Just because I’m working in a relatively new field and providing for my family in a somewhat non-traditional way doesn’t make it any less valid. If anything, my children will benefit from seeing how my creativity and hard work have led to success.

I suppose people like to forget that the reason they go to their corporate job is so that they can trade (cash, or paycheck) for goods & services. It’s the same thing. I applaud Nicole for what she does– she always has integrity and works with companies with whom she is already doing business, or on many occasions has highlighted in her previous posts for free. There’s a lot of us out here who have been doing this for years– it’s just part of having an entrepreneurial spirit. You probably just never realize it until situations like this because her blog is a public forum. As a freelance designer & owner of my own business, I trade/barter with clients all the time. It might not be your norm, but there’s more people out here than you think who get the things they want/need the exact same way.
And don’t forget– you can’t buy style… and that’s truly the reason why we come here.

Love the pink, green, and white color scheme! As an early 30’s girl it is still one of my favorite combos though I tend towards the more saturated versions now.
I’m not sure about the rocker. It seems a little too olive in comparison to the other elements.

I think she likes a lot of things in her room! If I had to choose one though, it would probably be the play table. We have her train tracks set up on it, and she loves playing choo choo right now. :)
