Kid-Friendly Pink Christmas Tree

Our home is a bit of a mess right now since we’re going through the basement remodel, but we do at least have our pink Christmas tree up. Eleanor is a year and half old now and we weren’t sure how she would be with the tree, so we decorated it entirely with unbreakable ornaments. We’ve been reminding her to look but not touch, and she hasn’t touched them since the first day. She’s happy just pointing at the tree and exclaiming “birds!”.

I know a pink tree isn’t for everybody, and it’s pretty close to Christmas now, but I put together a design board to show you how I made our tree kid-friendly. Not all of the items on our tree are available because we’re using things we’ve had for years, but if you’re looking to do a pretty and unbreakable tree at some point, I hope you’ll find some ideas here. With our without pink.

  • Hey! So I picked up a vintage rotating music box tree stand earlier this year. I got so excited about the star you found at PB and that it would “show” at every angle that I tracked one down. Love it! It’s so-so-so pretty!

  • Ahem. We currently have a mini pink tree. We decorated it this year with red birds, and white or clear ornaments, plus TONS of ‘crystal’ (read: plastic) garland. We plan on upgrading next year to a BIG pink Christmas tree. Thats the fab thing about Christmas, you can take any color scheme and run with it! P.S. The pink Christmas tree also doubles as a valentines day tree with red lights and magenta heart ornaments. It. Is. AWESOME.

  • I have a pink tree too so I am sooo with you on that one. I adore how you made it kid friendly and the white birds look gorgeous! My parents had ones just like them when we were growing up and next year, I’m going to try and find some for our tree- I think they look so so pretty on the pink tree. Merry pink Christmas!! xo

  • I couldn’t imagine having a pink tree in my own home but I just couldn’t imagine you having anything but. It’s just absolutely exquisite and perfect in your space! Love. Have a wonderful Christmas x

  • We put all plastic Christmas ornaments on our tree this year too. My son is two, and we’ve taught him that he can touch an ornament with 1 finger. It’s working out pretty well! We also got him his own little tree so as to stay away from ours! I just WOULD NOT NOT have a tree this year. I think it’s just important to teach your kids limits.

It’s pretty surprising how many ornaments out there are plastic! (THANK GOD!)

Happy Holidays! From this White Christmas tree family!
