  • My Top Ten Essential Tools for DIY Projects

You’ve probably figured out by now that I do a lot of projects around the house. If you’ve been reading for a long time, you also know that I once worked as a handyman.

I own a LOT of tools, but my top ten are the ones that I keep coming back to again and again. I think you’d be pretty well-equipped to handle a lot of DIY projects if you owned them too.

  • That’s Better.

    My New Drill

It only took about two seconds to make that hole. 8 amps of power, word.

    Little Drill vs. Big Drill

Look at the little one vs. the new drill. BIG difference.

  • Dang. Wrong Tool.

I bought a new drill today, and I was eager to use it… and then I realized that I bought the wrong thing. I think I grabbed the wrong box by accident.

    My New (But Wrong) Screwdriver

I need a drill (with screwdriver capabilities), not just a screwdriver.

    My Weak, Useless Screwdriver

THIS drill does not have enough power for me. Back to the store for me tomorrow…

  • Slipcovering a Patrik Chair?

I have IKEA’s Patrik as my desk chair. I still like it and it’s comfortable, but I’d like to change the color. I think having it reupholstered would probably be too expensive, so I thought a slipcover could be a good solution.

Do you think it would be too hard to do though? There are a lot of crazy angles.

  • A Key Chain and a Dog Tag

A Key Chain and a Dog Tag

I finally found my inkjet compatible shrinky dinks paper! I made the key chain I had wanted to make back in December, and I also made a cute dog tag for Murray. I’ve edited the photos of Murray’s tag to remove or blur our address and phone number, but the info is on there.

    How To?

    It’s a very easy project.

First, you’ll need to come up with a design. I know that not everybody is artistically inclined, so… I created a free Pet Tag Template for you! It’s the tag I used for Murray, cleaned up and simplified for widespread distribution. ;) You’ll need Photoshop to use the template, but I also included a plain jpeg version.

Anyone know where I can buy some?
