    My Wedding Dress

Brandon and I were married May 22, 2004. Recently, a few of you have asked to see my wedding dress because I mentioned that it was hanging in the closet I’ve been organizing. Not being one to disappoint, here it is.

    "the album cover"

I wore a white silk dress by Watters & Watters. I also wore red lipstick, my hair in a bun with my mom’s veil, simple stud earrings, and a big sparkly brooch on my dress. Brandon wore his suit with a pink tie and a lily of the valley boutonniere. My bouquet was made of pink peonies, lilies, old-fashioned roses, and lily of the valley.

If I knew how to swim, I’d buy that swimsuit immediately. I still kind of want it anyway. *sigh*

I do however know how to relax at a backyard barbecue (which I will be doing this fourth of July weekend), and this outfit would be perfect. A casual, comfortable dress, awesome strappy flat sandals, a charming necklace, and a punchy straw bag. Done.

The little grey dress is cute as it is, but adding a belt makes it even cuter. I’d add a handmade fabric wristlet and huaraches for pattern and texture, plus a dainty necklace and a big flower ring for interest. And get this… the entire outfit is under $150! Nice.

My favorite shade of pink (with a bit of purple) seems to have swung back on the fashion pendulum. I’m seeing it pop up everywhere!

The dress looks similar to the one I featured last July that I own and wear all the time. I’d pair it with a cardigan over top or a long-sleeved tee underneath until the weather warms up. The necklace is the same one everyone went nuts over when I posted the picture of me with my new red hair, and it’s only $29. I’d add a yellow bag to finish off the outfit, along with a stack of gold rings, and cute little flats.

Those flats, by the way? LOVE them. I just ordered them last week and I’m pretty much going to be wearing them non-stop this spring and summer. I’m tempted to get them in pewter too.

I have a new favorite dress.* It would be cute with flats or sandals when it’s warm out, but while it’s still cold I’d wear it with a colorful boyfriend cardigan and knee-high boots. There’s a little too much going on with the dress to add a necklace, but this gold medal would be really cute pinned to the cardigan, along with a dangly gold bracelet peeking out from the sleeves. For a little more color (I love all shades of red and pink together), I’d add a red bag.

OK, now I’m off to recreate this outfit with items from my closet. I bought the dress, and I already have a red bag and a few bracelets that might work…

    * The dress is great but it runs a size too large, so size down if you order it. And it is NOT machine washable, as it claims to be on the website.

Can you believe we’re more than halfway through December already? Whew! The shop has been keeping me so busy (thank you), I hadn’t had time to put together my monthly style post until now.

I’ve been feeling so frumpy lately. I’m not walking around in sweat pants and t-shirt freebies or anything, but I’ve still been feeling a bit blah. Therefore, we have bows! Ruffles! Flowers! Pretty Shoes!* Yummy color! Unabashed femininity!

*My apologies for picking a shoe that’s almost sold out, but it also comes in a lovely mushroom color and they’re on clearance for about $30 (score).
