Honest Goodness

Let’s say you get the chance to talk to Jessica Alba. You’d probably talk to her about some of her movie roles, right? I talked to her about bubble bath. Specifically, how her Honest Bubble Bath (she co-founded the company) was the only one that didn’t irritate my kids’ skin.

Look, there I am (with long hair) at Alt Summit, talking to her about me giving baths to my children! She was riveted, no doubt.

Nicole Balch and Jessica Alba

Ah, but it’s true about the bubble bath. We’ve been using Honest for a good six months now. Everything they make is natural and non-toxic, and I’m happy to be working with them today to share what has worked for us when it comes to bath time.

Honest Shampoo and Conditioner

We like Honest’s shampoo and body wash, and the conditioner has helped me avoid this dreaded scenario with Eleanor. I use a little spray conditioner on her hair sometimes too, to help comb it and tame static. The whole family uses Honest’s face and body lotion, and I like to bundle everything into a monthly package to save a little, but everything is available individually too.

Sometimes I even add lotion to August’s hair to style it up a bit. He doesn’t like to be fussed over, but the result is too cute. Although, I’ve got to say that nothing beats his bedhead!

August's Bedhead

(I kind of want to figure out how to get my hair to do that.)

I was just thinking about switching to cruelty-free products and then your post about the Honest Company popped up. I checked it on the PETA website to be sure and they are qualified. I also think I may have an allergy or irritation with the dreaded stuff I use now so I’m definitely going to try this out — thanks for the great recommendation Nicole! Cheers – CT

You have my interest piqued, but their website doesn’t seem to be working for me.

We’re pretty big fans of Honest at our house. We love the diapers and aside from the body products have discovered the cleaning products work really well also and smell great too!

I have honestly never seen Ms. Alba in anything on TV or otherwise, except for a commercial or two (and of course on the red carpet)….but I love what she’s doing with her time and energy and money. It makes me happy to know that there’s a good heart and thoughtful mind behind that gorgeous face.

I can’t wait until Honest products are available for shipping to Canada! I would love to give them a try. It’s so refreshing to see a celebrity get involved in a cause they truly believe in – I’d love to see more of this. Kudos to Jessica Alba!

I absolutely LOVE that photo of August! It is wonderful. Thank you for the info on the Honest products. I will definitely check them out as I am incredibly sensitive to sodium lauryl sulfate which makes bath products a HUGE challenge for me.

I’ve been thinking about trying Honest products for some time now. ‘Honest’ly (haha get it) I’ve been happy using Baby, Oh Baby shampoo and castile soap (both of which are organic/natural/whatever). I’m currently in the market for some bubble bath for my two year old who has very sensitive skin so I may try it out. It’s too bad the bundle is monthly. I never have to buy anything monthly except maybe toilet paper and paper towels (and diapers) so that would just be too much for me! But thanks for the post!

We love Honest at our house, too! Just wrote about it yesterday, actually, because I am always so pleased with their products and service, and my daughter LOVES the diapers. The healing balm is my favorite. :) I don’t have a discount code to offer, but I’ll just chime in and say, “YES! Check them out!” http://deewilcox.com/2013/04/all-things-honest/

I tried Honest as soon as they started up. I was searching for a natural alternative to use on my kids. I wasn’t impressed with how the products smelled, LOVED the packaging and concept, but also didn’t like the monthly buy. I had quit buying our home cleaning products and supplements from another company which required monthly purchases.

I’ve now switched to Perfectly Posh products. I’m not trying to hijack this post and feel free to delete this comment, but I love the products I use now on my 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son. I use fabulous baby wash and lotion. And I smash up a Plain Posh bomb to get bubbles in their bath (6 baths per bomb). I’ll be switching over to the Good Karma Down with Dirty wash I use for my hair and body on my daughter soon. Lots of pure options that work on even the most sensitive of skin. perfectlyposh.us/poshlisa
