Poufs?

At this point in my pregnancy, I would really like a soft cushy place to put my feet up. I’m thinking about either buying a Moroccan Pouf from John Derian or making one of Amy Butler’s Gum Drop Pillows. I’m sure I can find a permanent home for one or the other long after the baby is born, and actually she’ll probably love having a little pouf to lounge around on.

I know I’m about three years too late to get in on the trend, but I’m not really concerned with that. I suppose I’m just trying to decide if I want to spend the cash on the pouf (it’s awfully cute) or just try to make my own.

Jenny Lind Style

We chose a Jenny Lind crib for the nursery. I love the classic design, and Brandon and I each slept in one when we were babies.

I chose black, though everyone else seems to pick white. I didn’t want the room to get too pastel and girly, so I figured a few dark brown/black elements would be nice.

Here are a few other Jenny Lind cribs and beds I’ve noticed…

Orla Kiely (and Other New Details) in the Kitchen

The Target near me finally put out some of the Orla Kiely goodies I’ve been wishing for, so I picked up a couple of canisters for the kitchen. The cheery pattern is really cute in there!

I put this “Eat” sign above the fridge quite a while ago, but I hadn’t taken a photo of it until now…

My mother-in-law has the same sign in red in the family’s Wisconsin lake house. I bought mine from Feather Your Nest (though it looks like they have different word signs now).

And how cute are these little measuring spoons? I love the soft clacking sounds they make as I open the cabinet.

The Bright Side Project

Miss B has been giving away goodies everyday in February as part of her Bright Side Project, and I’m honored to be a part of it!

Head on over and enter to win one of my Pink Loves Brown paper suitcase gift sets (winner’s choice!) by answering a simple question:

Is there anything you wish you were better at?

Your answer can be serious or silly (I wish I was better at applying eyeshadow — not exactly an essential skill), and you have until March 2 to enter.

I Want My House to Look Like This, Please.

Our House, but Better

It’s much better than the current look, don’t you think? Here’s a detail:

The Photoshop File

In case anyone’s feeling creative/bored, you can download a file for the mockup. Feel free to play around with it… I loved seeing what everyone came up with last time!
