Eleanor’s Nursery (Sources)

At long last, I’ve photographed the finished nursery! Can you hear the collective cry of “finally”? Before I post all of the photos (I’m editing them now), here’s a little board for the room…

It looks really cute. I hate to be a downer, but did you know that the American Academy of Pediatrics considers bumpers pads to be a hazard to babies? There are several other consumer safety groups who agree. I just found out my self from my friend’s husband who is a pediatrician and banned them from their nursery. I can’t believe all these places still sell them. Apparently, they were necessary when crib slats were further apart.

Can I ask how you do your design boards? G and I are moving back to the US this summer and I am looking forward to re-doing some rooms! Thanks!

I love the nursery! My friend just found out she is pregnant and I am forwarding this to her right now.

As far as the bumper pad stuff goes, they keep little arms and legs from getting stuck in the bars, which is no fun for anyone. If someone is truly worried about this they sell breathable bumpers at Babies r Us.
