The Lily Mirror is Here

It was a Valentine’s Day gift, which is funny because we never celebrate the holiday. I mentioned to Brandon that I had a little gift for him (it was a Darth Vader flash drive), and I guess he felt like he should reciprocate. I wasn’t expecting anything, and I was completely surprised when the mirror I wanted for my office arrived! (Brandon totally wins.)

Lily Mirror in my Office

My office is coming along so nicely. I just need my crazy rug so that I can pick a new wall color, and then I want to paint the trim too.

  • Awww i love the style in which the over all room is portrayed, its like what a movie star’s makeup room should look like :)!!

  • That’s a lovely wall mirror, but it looks heavy! Is the frame made of what? Wood? Small price to pay for beauty I suppose!

your home is surely lovely, and then some. And your blog is soo fun to look through I feel like an ADHD kid in a candystore… ^_^ well done.

  • Can I ask about the color of the mirror? The website says white with distressed brown base. How does it really look in person? Is it a bright white or a more antique white? Love it.

Is that a screen saver? It’s amazingly simple and I MUST have it.

  • This is so incredible. I wanted to ask a question about the calendar screen. Is this a screen saver? I love the visual graphic of it and wondered where you got it.

Thanks and have a blessed day!

For what it’s worth, I really love your pink walls! But if you’ve grown sick of it, then I totally understand. Great office space, btw :)

first can i say that i love your style? but what i wanted to ask is, that round foot rest(pink) under your desk, where is it from? white scalloped mirror…yummy.

  • Gorgeous Mirror (and good job Hubby!). As for what colour to paint the lamp – I vote red – just like your awesome chair!

  • LOVE the mirror! Put my desk together last night (did you have any issues? holes not aligned?) The under-the-desk cord project the was much harder than I thought, my back was tweaked after. Thanks for the inspiration!

  • I love it all! It all works so well together. Oh and I did your survey for you! :)

I’ve been a reader for some time now and I’m always inspired by your posts. And this time more than usual. So I have to ask: where did you find that gorgeous desk?

  • It’s so charming and i’m not sure if it would work with our style home and the high ceilings, but I just love the look of all the pictures hanging.

  • I love and adore that mirror. I’m so jealous! Ha :) but I’m so glad you get to enjoy it! So fun. Your office is looking great.

  • haha, love the flash drive! Congrats on the great gift…and I can’t wait to see that rug once it arrives! :)

  • Love the mirror. Soooo you.

  • That mirror works perfectly for the space! It’s beautiful.

  • Love the space. Perfect pink~!

  • Michonne

Oh wow… this is AWESOME! You have beautiful taste when it comes to selecting pieces that are bold but not ridiculously over the top. I also have plaster walls but no picture rail – you’re soooo lucky – I am super envious, they add so much character to the historic homes.:o)

  • michele

oh, he’s sweet. I love it.

  • Wow !
    I love it !
    So sweet ! *-* So lovely ! *-*

  • Well done Brandon! And good pick Nicole. It looks great there and it looks like it is hanging just high enough so that you aren’t staring at yourself as you work. Not that that would be a bad thing.

Is there any pink in the rug? It is hard to tell in the photo. Maybe you can get away with the existing wall colour.. unless you are craving a change that is.

  • It turned out so cute! Cant wait to see it w/ the new rug!

  • Renee

I would love to see a close-up of the picture rail and hooks… how they are attached, and how they work, exactly… I had never seen that before, and always wrote it off as just a goofy vintage middle-of-the-wall-trim thing… I dig older construction and all the quirks it offers! I’m glad other comments clarified what it was, because that was my first question.

    P.S. BEAUTIFUL mirror… go hubby!

  • what a good hubby! and for what it’s worth, i like that crazy rug…it’s gonna look great in there.

  • OH my!!! that mirror is a dream!!! he definitely wins ;)

  • Alyssa

I have plaster walls too. In a rental, with no picture rails. It really limits what you can put up without doing some serious damage. And since it’s a rental, I’m hesitant to paint because plaster absorbs so much it might take forever to paint back to off white. The trade-offs of loving vintage buildings. I just use your blog for my pink-paint-porn.

  • that mirror looks amazing, so much better now that it’s in the room! what about picking out one of the colors in the rugs like the icy blue or olive green? then you could keep the trim white to tone it down.

  • Robin

I’m in love with that rug also. I just adore your taste in rugs. I have such a hard time choosing them myself. I wonder if you would consider doing a post devoted entirely to well priced rugs? I would love it. (I’m in the market for one for my 9-month old daughter’s nursery – slacker I know, but as I said – I have a hard time with choosing rugs!

p.s. I love your picture rail and the hangers you use. I think they look very high end and emphasize the era your home was built in. I covet them as a matter of fact!

    Keep up the good work.

    Robin

  • I have been loving your picture rail ever since I started following your blog, and never knew what it was until now. Is that something that you installed yourself or came with the home? It’s so charming and i’m not sure if it would work with our style home and the high ceilings, but I just love the look of all the pictures hanging.

  • Oh I love that you have a footstool under your desk. The mirror is adorable.

  • The mirror goes perfectly with your adorable office. :)
I ADORE your office! Do you mind sharing where the vase with tulips are from?

  • I love the Bombshell Hook Rug on your wists. I went to the site and signed up for their email and they sent me a “$5 off any order over $10” as a thank you. Thought you might like to know. :)

  • I love this mirror! Very chic and cute! Can’t wait to see what else you plan on doing in this little space!

  • that mirror is fabulous. love love

  • I love this mirror. You’re office is adorable. Can’t wait to see the final changes.

  • This mirror has been a favorite of mine since I first saw it! It looks great in your office. I can’t wait to see how things progress!

  • Alyssa

I’m guessing she has plaster walls.

  • Erika

    Looks perfect!

  • I hope you don’t mind my asking, and I don’t mean to be rude or anything, but I’m curious as to why you hung your mirror from the picture mantle, and didn’t just hang it from behind? Then you wouldn’t have those black cords hanging – they seem like a bit of an eye sore.

Again, I really don’t mean this to be rude because I really and truly love your home – it’s so delightful! – I just think it would look a million times better if you lost the cords. :)

Alyssa (a couple of comments down) is right. I have plaster walls. Plus, knowing what picture rail is for, I find it looks a little funny when people have it and don’t use it.

  • I adore your office. I want one that is clean and organized like this. I don’t have enough space to have everything put away like this (I live in a group house!) but I keep it as organized as possible. I want to have a home like yours someday.

  • That looks like such an enjoyable space. Great job :)

  • Alyssa

I love it. I’m so jealous that you are getting the Steps rug – I love that thing but it clashes with my current chair upholstery, and not in a good clash-y way.

  • the scale is so awesome, it definitely makes it less granny and more chic

  • it is a perfect mirror! wow!

can i ask, where did you get that little pink lounger puff under your desk? i know i’ve seen it before, but i can’t remember where. and i want one in yellow or aqua so badly!!!

  • oh wow!it looks fabulous & works really really nicely in your space.

  • that is such a beautiful mirror. that whole corner is gorgeous. i don’t know if i’d ever get anything done, I would just keep looking around the whole time. ( ;

  • Ballard Designs seriously has some killer mirrors. I have at least two from them. Have you seen Wisteria’s mirrors lately? They are maybe not your style, because they are more ornate, but they are really divine too.

  • Paint other than pink? No!!!

Are you still thinking about that rug and lamp that you thought was granny-ish? What color are you thinking for paint?

  • So cute and sweet. Wow, that mirror is SO perfect for this space!
