I love white skirts like this one. That waist needs to be shown off, so I’d tuck in this green halter top (the straps are wide enough to wear a normal bra underneath, yay). The Seychelles sandals look so cute, and the Cubist bag is just awesome. I like that it doesn’t match exactly, but it still works. I could see it working with a ton of outfits that way. I’m pretty into those studs, and isn’t the ring cool too? It’s made of electrical wire.

Super Budget Edition: Nothing Over $35
The little grey dress is cute as it is, but adding a belt makes it even cuter. I’d add a handmade fabric wristlet and huaraches for pattern and texture, plus a dainty necklace and a big flower ring for interest. And get this… the entire outfit is under $150! Nice.

Skinny jeans! I don’t typically wear jeans, but after Abbey mentioned how flattering these were, I had to go try them on. Let me tell you, she was right. I’d wear them with shiny, art school girl shoes
and a pretty tunic. My bag would have a paint drip pouch inside (just because it’s fun and I love it), and then I’d wear simple earrings and a couple of stacking arrow rings to finish off the look.
How do you style your jeans? I know how to rock a dress, but this is a new area for me.

My favorite shade of pink (with a bit of purple) seems to have swung back on the fashion pendulum. I’m seeing it pop up everywhere!
The dress looks similar to the one I featured last July that I own and wear all the time. I’d pair it with a cardigan over top or a long-sleeved tee underneath until the weather warms up. The necklace is the same one everyone went nuts over when I posted the picture of me with my new red hair, and it’s only $29. I’d add a yellow bag to finish off the outfit, along with a stack of gold rings, and cute little flats.
Those flats, by the way? LOVE them. I just ordered them last week and I’m pretty much going to be wearing them non-stop this spring and summer. I’m tempted to get them in pewter too.

Award Yourself
Pin an award to your lapel! I did this today, inspired by my own style post, and it’s making me very happy.
I won this award 20 years ago when I played clarinet in the fourth grade. It says:
Illinois Grade School
Solo
Music Ass’nDo you know how funny an award that says “Ass’n” is to a fourth grader? I still think it’s funny.

I have a new favorite dress.* It would be cute with flats or sandals when it’s warm out, but while it’s still cold I’d wear it with a colorful boyfriend cardigan and knee-high boots.
There’s a little too much going on with the dress to add a necklace, but this gold medal would be really cute pinned to the cardigan, along with a dangly gold bracelet peeking out from the sleeves. For a little more color (I love all shades of red and pink together), I’d add a red bag.
OK, now I’m off to recreate this outfit with items from my closet. I bought the dress, and I already have a red bag and a few bracelets that might work…
* The dress is great but it runs a size too large, so size down if you order it. And it is NOT machine washable, as it claims to be on the website.
