Do I Need a Maternity Coat?

I’m rapidly outgrowing my clothes and I’m going to need a new winter coat.

The only coat that fits me now

Should I buy a maternity coat, or can I get by with a roomy swingy coat in a larger size? I’m due in April, which means I may be wearing it right up to the end. Chicago winters tend to stick around well into spring.

    Fascinating

This is the other fascinator I bought from Love, Lulu Mae at the Renegade Craft Fair. Brandon’s sisters came over for my birthday and I thought that was a perfect excuse to wear it.

    Red Wellies!

I went with the Hunter Festival Wellingtons!

I do have to admit, they are a bit snug on the calves. I still love them though.

    Love, Lulu Mae

This was the first time since 2005 that Brandon and I weren’t at The Renegade Craft Fair with a booth for Pink Loves Brown, so we were excited to go as shoppers! As I had mentioned though, the weekend was very wet and rainy. We went early on the second day and many of the vendors had already packed up and gone home (I heard a lot of tent mishap horror stories). Still, most of the people were there and it was fun to walk around in the rain, talking to our crafty friends and doing some shopping.

Now let me preface this next bit by saying that I am a girl that loves hats and fascinators. Brandon is usually perplexed by my wearing of them because I wear them any ol’ day. He says I like to be “fancy” (which is said with a mincing motion and air quotes). Thanks, sweetie.

So anyway, my favorite seller at The Fair? Love, Lulu Mae.

I bought the “Laura” Green Feather Headband and a little fascinator, but had I seen the “Cecile” Ladies Vintage Hat I surely would have snapped that up as well. In fact, I encourage someone out there to buy it so that I won’t be tempted.

I’m already hoping to see Love, Lulu Mae at more of Chicago’s crafty events because I can’t wait to see everything in person again. Swoon.

  • Wellies

    Wellies

I’m in the market for a new pair of rain boots.

The Renegade Craft Fair was this weekend – this very wet and rainy weekend. I wore my pale pink Martha Stewart garden boots (I bought them years ago when Martha still had a mail-order catalog), but I think it’s time for a new pair. They’re pretty dirty by now, but I’ve actually never been all that thrilled with the color. The pink is so pale that they’re almost flesh colored, and a flesh colored rain boot silhouette on the leg isn’t exactly flattering.

    Rain Boots

    Right.

There are a ton of rain boots at Target (all for $25 or less), but they’re all mid-calf height. I want a knee-high pair, most likely in red. Maybe a pair of actual Hunter Wellingtons? They’re available here, here, and here.

Any other suggestions before I splurge on the Wellies?
