Now You’re Thinking With Portals
Yep. I just finished Portal.
*Pauses, pushes up glasses…*
I love the song at the end. Love! Don’t listen if you don’t want to spoil the ending, but I suspect that many of my readers haven’t played and don’t plan to (though you should). It’s just a guess. ;)
Listen:
*Sigh.*
Jack O’Lanterns
Brandon and I carved pumpkins tonight. Oh! I love the way they turned out!
My sister and I carved pumpkins with my mom when we were little of course, but I don’t remember ever adding a candle inside. Egads, it makes all the difference!
I started with a sketch (as I do like to preplan). I wanted a face – no black cats or witches on broomsticks for me.
The pumpkin was a little hard to carve with our steak knives, so we used our fancy Wüstof kitchen knives. We had a hard time making detailed cuts, and I was wondering how I was going to cut out the stitches I had planned. Brandon suggested an exacto knife, but as I was looking for it I remembered that I had a linoleum cutter. A ha! It was the perfect tool.
The stitches at the top of my pumpkin are a little hard to see, but I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out overall!
Whereas my pumpkin is a little scary, I think Brandon’s is just scared.
Boo!
Penmanship Stationery
The studio is not ready to be shown yet, but I’m very excited about my latest design!
There are matching pins and magnets too. I think they’d make a great gift for a teacher from a little boy or girl… so sweet!

Studio Floor, Finished
The studio looks good, even while empty! It’s amazing how much difference some molding can make – the new bamboo floor looks sharp.
Kim (Four Beds Two Baths) and Raya (The Paper Pony) are installing wood floors right now too… I’m looking forward to seeing their finished results!
