Red Hair

I did it! One item from my 30 Before Thirty list down, 29 to go.

Red Hair!

I had my hair dyed at a salon, but it was not without difficulty. My appointment consisted of hair dying, drying, washing, bleaching, washing, dying, drying, and finally done.

It’s a fun color though!

So cute! I love dramatic changes like this with the seasons I had my hair dyed several shades darker before winter last year and my daughter (who has 2 at the time) didn’t know what to make of it. She said “Mom, you can’t be a fashion lady!”

  45. jo March 4, 2010 at 9:40 am #

    it looks great!

  46. Scraps March 4, 2010 at 9:41 am #

    Rocking the red! Awesome!

I went in last Fall and explained (with pictures even) that I wanted bright red highlights–like red red red–not subtle but not club kid either. Took 3 hours and lasted 2 washes. The second go ’round lasted 2 weeks before starting to fade. Sigh… apparently red is hard to make stick, especially for us dark-haired chicks who have to bleach first.

May you have far better luck than I and share which system was able to do it (Redken was my failed attempt, may try Aveda next when I get brave enough to try again).

  47. Kim @ Yellow Brick Home March 4, 2010 at 9:43 am #

Stunning! Did they also dye your eyebrows? Everything looks pretty natural!

  48. Valerie March 4, 2010 at 9:45 am #
