I’ll post proper photos soon… it takes a bit of work to get the room ready to photograph and I’ve been so very tired lately.

The Living Room, Version 492
The Madeline Weinrib rug is now in place, zigging and zagging it up.
The room suddenly looks very pink. Maybe that’s a stupid thing to notice, seeing as how the walls are painted pink, but WOW the rug makes a big difference.
Of course, we had to keep Murray’s little fluffy rug.
Hopefully we’ll have time to hang our wallpaper soon in the dining room. I think the new rug might look good in there too, or in the bedroom. I’m happy with it in the living room for now though!

Old Waiting Room Chairs
They’ve been in the living room for a while now, but I don’t think they’ll be staying. I’ve had those chairs for years though (you’ve probably seen them pop up in other areas of my house too), so I thought I’d give them a try.
I might not bother with making a slipcover for our ugly old bench either. I still like having our Eames LCW there, which is the way I set up the room in the very beginning.
I do like the new (old) end tables I picked up though. The size is much better, and I love the little drawer (to store our bajillion remotes and video game controls). I just wish they were in better shape.

Orleans Rug
I thought I could cross something off my list already, but now I’m not so sure.
The new rug in that last photo happens to be the Orleans Rug from Crate & Barrel. I’m smitten.
The problem is that it’s not really big enough for the living room.
It would be gorgeous in the 8×10 size, but it wouldn’t be very practical. The entry to our home is tiny and awkward, so you have to come into the living room almost immediately upon entering. The room is only 11’x12′, so the larger rug would cover most of the floor. Obviously, white may not be the best choice for a high-traffic area.
Also, we eat on the sofa. Because we are lazy. The dining room is ten whole feet away. So again, white may not be the best choice.
Brandon thinks that maybe we shouldn’t even have a rug in there. We have rugs in the adjoining rooms, so he thinks the bare wood is a nice visual break. What do you think?

Maybe this one?
I know I should do something long and rectangular over the sofa, but what do you think about this?
(artist’s rendering, haha)
I’ve wanted it for the last year or so, and I’ve just ordered it. It’s 3’x3′, and it’s made of fabric (hand sewn!). It’s from Dream of Stars. I love it so much! If it looks odd in the living room, I’ll probably put it in the bedroom.
