Brandon and I are going to have a baby!
I’m 13 weeks along and the due date is April 14. I had a pretty rocky first trimester, which is why I didn’t want to say anything right away. I was on bed rest for a while and there was a lot of bleeding and cramping and worrying, but I’m (we’re!) doing much better now.
The upside of having to go in several times for emergency doctor visits and ultrasounds is that we got some very early pictures of our little blob – I mean baby!
It really does just look like a little blob at 6 and 8 weeks.
And of course, Brandon tricked me a few weeks ago into taking a barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen photo. Oh, you should have seen his face as I figured out what he was doing! Too proud of himself on that one. ;)
Anyway, we’re thrilled to finally announce the news. We’re having a baby!

October 9, 2008 at 1:57 pmoh nice one! Happy baby-to-be news! I wish all three of you the best!
So now down to practical matters…I had a change table that was pretty and all but really – ten years along – it’s now down in the basement being used as a storage thing. So have you thought about a dresser you love with a pad on top for changing baby on? There’s lot’s of good ones now, and all the dresser drawers will provide a place for “diaper change accoutrement”! It’s a piece of furniture with far more use in the future as your lovely Borghese Dresser mood boards prove! I say spend the moolah on a dresser you love or a great piece of art for the nursery walls…Baby will thank you one day!
Is it too early to enquire? Are there any baby names you’re considering that we can all weigh in on???

And I vote for the Target changing table. It’s a temporary piece, used for a very specific task, so it’s OK to cheap out on it.

October 21, 2008 at 10:51 amWhere the heck have I been?! I just saw your flickr pic on the coat and was like “wha?!” How wonderfully exciting!
That first trimester can be so scary (I had some bleeding as well) but the second is absolutely wonderful. All the big things start happening…the quickening, people realizing that you’re pregnant and not just putting on weight, you start feeling movement on the outside. It really was a special time for us.
Congrats, congrats, congrats! You’re going to be such a great crafty mama! And as always, feel free to email. This is all new to me too!
