I just ordered these vintage floral plates…

They should go nicely with my Star Glow vintage plate set that Brandon and I picked up a few months ago at an estate sale (dinner plates, dessert plates, serving dishes, the works)…

January 26, 2009 at 4:45 pmI can’t believe it! The star-glow plates are my grandmother’s plates that she gave me a few years ago. She said something like, “I don’t know why you’re so interested in these old everyday plates. I’ve seen them everyday for so many years and I’ve never thought they were anything special.”
I think they’re incredibly special and I’m so excited to see that others do too!

January 26, 2009 at 4:59 pmThese are both so lovely!
I bought an everyday set at Ikea (plain but work well), and I am beginning to supplement it with vintage plates that I have found at thrift stores – some white china with silver on the edge and a silver snowflake in the middle, plus a beautiful glass platter with smaller plates and a swirly design…I like having an eclectic table :)

January 27, 2009 at 8:24 pmI have been trying to leave a comment for days, but for whatever reason the site is loading up slow on the Mister’s computer. ANYWAY, I love them and knew the second I saw them my husband would be scouring shops for some of his own.

January 28, 2009 at 9:27 amvintage indeed are those plates on the bottom. Looks like the plates we used waaaay back in my grandma’s house that was stuck in the 70’s

January 28, 2009 at 11:13 amLove the plates! Vintage china is my favorite!! My grandmother’s china was given to me some years ago, and I am continually amazed at how chic it remains today. Something like your current dishes, it features gold and teal “star glows”… only a bit more pared down and simple.

February 4, 2009 at 7:58 amI have the star glow. Only those little plates that I found at the thrift, but the same exact ones and I’ve paired them up with a similar floral vintage pattern dinner set as well. Awesome, someone else who gets it!
Hope all is well ;-)
