I love it.
I do wish the lights were clear, but I can change them eventually. At night, the hot pink lights take the tree from kooky and fun to over-the-top bordello! Also, the 7.5′ version would have been a better height, but it would have been far too wide for the room. We ordered the medium-sized “wooden” tree stand you see in the photo, hoping that it would add some height. We only got a few extra inches from it, but it does look nicer than the wire stand that came with the tree.
I can’t wait to see what the tree looks like when it’s all decked out with ornaments!

December 4, 2009 at 2:43 pmSo FUN… I love your style!
Seriously, how do you get away with that? My hubby was one of 2 boys, and pink decor is just lost on him :-)

December 4, 2009 at 2:44 pmI wanted to get this tree as well but wasn’t liking the pink lights. I think it would be better with clear lights. My mom said no though. :( I think with the right decorations it will look beautiful.

December 4, 2009 at 4:08 pmWow! That’s just begging for an aqua-and-silver colour scheme for the decorations! I’m looking forward to seeing the decorated result.

December 4, 2009 at 5:15 pmNow THAT is a Christmas tree, whoo! It looks great, spreading it’s pink light out into the room. :D Nice to see the yellow curtains back again.
Claire Quilter
December 4, 2009 at 5:42 pmI love it! And, thank you. I was not in the Christmas spirit until I wandered upon your fabulous tree picture. It reminded me I have a lovely little silver aluminum one at home to put up.
p.s. For my tree, I added height by sticking the base dowel through a few sturdy shoe boxes and draping them with a piece of dark purple satin.

December 4, 2009 at 7:05 pmNow THAT is a fun tree! Does the room glow pink when the lights are on?

December 4, 2009 at 7:11 pmOnly you could pull off a pink Christmas tree. It looks SO amazing. I’m jealous!!

December 4, 2009 at 7:36 pmI love, love, love it. I finally have a total of two Christmas trees in the house this year, and the new tree’s decorations are pink and silver. My husband thought I was crazy, but it looks great. You are the luckiest girl in the world to have a husband that doesn’t mind pink in the house.
ShocktheBourgeois
December 4, 2009 at 8:10 pmI was having sort of a rotten day, but I couldn’t help but grin at this picture. That pink tree is just irresistibly bizarre- such a quirky take on Christmas spirit. Eleanor is going to have the brightest and happiest childhood- what a lucky little gal!
Aimee
December 4, 2009 at 8:34 pmWahooo! That is a festive tree if I ever saw one. Love it. Living vicariously through you, as I doubt my hubby would ever want a pink tree in the house. :)

December 4, 2009 at 9:04 pmYOU ROCK MY FACE OFF!
A suggestion to get some added height: Put some of the chirstmas decoration boxes under the nice wooden stand and cover them with a (white bed sheet, pink blanket, silver lame from the fabric store… I don’t know how to spell that, but it’s pronounced as though it’s french not as though it’s a bore!, or whatever you have laying around to disguise boxes). Then when it’s time to take it all down, the boxes are still close at hand. Just don’t put the ornament boxes under it, for obvious reasons. My mom did this with her slim trees at their old house when they were short on space, and it was barely noticeable that the tree was elevated above the regular tree stand.

December 4, 2009 at 9:23 pmwow! that is the most adorable tree i have ever seen…..i absolutely adore it!

December 4, 2009 at 10:07 pmLooks absolutely fabulous!!!
Are you going to skirt it too?
Susan
December 4, 2009 at 10:30 pmSo pretty! My husband would fall over and die at the sight of it, though. His live tree chopping adventures and memories as a kid run far too deep for him to go for this. Like I said before, a small one in my daughter’s room will be so awesome!
P.S. I think it would be stunning with a wool or white faux fur rug/blanket as the tree skirt a la Young House Love.

December 4, 2009 at 11:15 pmIt’s absolutely beautiful. I was looking at a tiny little pink tree at Target the other day and thinking how tacky it looked. Yours is absolutely stunning.

December 4, 2009 at 11:49 pmI just put my own little pink tree up last night! It’s just a little tinsel tree from Urban Outfitters, but I love it! I LOVE yours, too!

December 5, 2009 at 12:04 ama most fantastic tree!!!
Heather in Washington State, USA
December 5, 2009 at 12:15 amput it up on a low table / coffee table, for more height (and to keep a little person from pulling it over).
Tracey
December 5, 2009 at 1:51 amSooooooo cool! As for added height, we’ve been setting smaller trees on nightstands or similar sturdy furniture pieces. It provides that extra height, looks cool and lets any ornaments that hang at the bottom branches have extra space to “breathe”. har har. Also More room around the base for…..prezzies…yay!
Little Gray Pixel
December 5, 2009 at 2:28 amSo jealous of the pink tree! Our tree is a whopping 3 feet tall (standing on a 2-foot table makes it 5 feet tall). But we learned a lesson about big trees a few years ago when we adopted our cat…
drey
December 5, 2009 at 6:13 ami LOVE your tree! i’ve searched HIGH AND LOW for a pink tree in Australia… and NOTHING is to be found! It’s all too frustrating for me!
Never mind ornaments, it looks perfect NOW!

December 5, 2009 at 7:08 amOh. My. God. That thing is so beyond tacky that it’s utterly amazing. And, I honestly mean that as the highest of compliments!

December 5, 2009 at 7:32 amI am not quite that brave!! The closest we got was the other year w/ a white tree. But I really admire your home and it looks absolutely fabulous :)

December 5, 2009 at 2:50 pmI’m a wee bit jealous. My husband would look at me and say, “I’m emotional, I like chick flicks, and I can enjoy a pedicure like no other, but no pink tree.” I know because I jokingly asked him about one last month and he gave me “the look”. It looks fantastic though!
