I did it! One item from my 30 Before Thirty list down, 29 to go.
I had my hair dyed at a salon, but it was not without difficulty. My appointment consisted of hair dying, drying, washing, bleaching, washing, dying, drying, and finally done.
It’s a fun color though!

I love red though, which is why I’ve been dyeing my naturally blonde hair some form of red my entire adult life.
Go redheads!

March 4, 2010 at 1:53 pmThat color looks so great on you! I tried red a few years back, but people kept calling me Sharon Osborne…

March 4, 2010 at 2:05 pmFrom one ginger to another (who cares if you’re just pretending)- welcome! So glad you went for RED! instead of auburn or something more cautious. As someone said above, it’s crazy that you’re not yet 30 for all you’ve done and your level of success! Your daughter is lucky to have such an inspiring mom. Congrats on the hair and crossing some things off of your to-do list!

March 4, 2010 at 3:48 pmI normally HATE red hair like that. Where I live, women attempt this a lot, to no avail. However, you look STUNNING! That shade of red really looks amazing with your complexion!

March 4, 2010 at 5:59 pmI remember my mom coloring my hair with Henna when I was in 5th grade. I loved having red hair. Ever since, when I tried coloring it red it ended up looking reddish-brown, I never thought I was supposed to have it bleached first – duh.
You look great!
But, I was wondering – Where did you get that necklace?

Seeing how cute your hair looks makes me wanna cart your picture into the salon for some stylin’. I haven’t had a haircut since we moved a year and a half ago – I’m scared to find a new stylist. I’ve had some really bad experiences with new hairdressers….*shudders*

March 5, 2010 at 8:01 amWhen I was in my 30s I did the red thing for several years. All different shades of red. I liked it at the time, but now I prefer something natural, less maintenance, etc. I think it’s fun for awhile, but not long term. I prefer a more true red or auburn – to me, this is a bit orangey. You look good, but I think another shade could be more flattering. I still liked your brown hair best. Sorry. And, yes I have brown hair. But, I’m not biased. I was blonde in my 20s, red in my 30s and now brunette in my 40s. Change is good regardless.

March 8, 2010 at 1:18 pmThis looks fabulous on you – you have the skintone to carry off this brighter warmer tone.
I went from brunette to red myself a few weeks ago (I’m naturally blonde) and it took 5 hours! Two rounds of bleaching, one of color and another of toner (plus all the washing and drying in between). I have pictures of me mid-bleach and holy hell do I look silly. :D My shade is much deeper and ruddier than yours but I have a very different skintone. I feel like I’ve finally found my true color and I’m planning to stick with red for a very long time.
Enjoy your new look – it looks fantastic. Cheers!

March 8, 2010 at 7:23 pmHoly crap it looks amazing! I’ve always wanted red hair but my stylist thinks it’ll look weird on me (considering I’m Asian). I’m so jealous. Might have to forward this to him and do some more convincing. Let us know how the upkeep is!
