This dress reminds me of little girls’ eyelet dresses (my mom LOVES those). What can be adorable on a two-year-old though can often be cloyingly sweet on an adult, so it needs a little toughening up. But not too tough… I think this outfit has a perfect mix of sweet (white dress, flower ring, a belt to cinch the waist) and tough (rad shoes, cool hobo bag, and snake bracelets).

March 22, 2011 at 11:06 amOld Navy came out with a shirt in that exact same style years back. It’s one of my favorites and I wear it constantly in spring and summer (wore it yesterday, in fact). I was so excited to see it in a dress version at the store this past weekend.

March 22, 2011 at 11:51 amI love this snake bracelet on etsy. Used to be around the same price as the one you posted but she has raised the price to more than I would be willing to pay.

March 22, 2011 at 12:38 pmThanks to the link about your graph line plan. Thanks for sharing the info! I started the “line plan” and for the first time in 3 days I was above the line. Today is a challenge for me! I’m trying to remember that tomorrow I’ll be “under the line” and have a little more freedom! One day of cutting back a little more will not hurt me when I’ve got 50+ maybe even 75+ to loose! I have to keep reframing this in my mind! I’d love to be out of plus size clothes one of these days! How long did it take for you to loose 40 lbs after your first baby?

March 22, 2011 at 3:14 pmHey, did you know you made it on Benjamin Moore’s blog. They didn’t credit you but I totally recognized your living room. http://colorzenblog.blogspot.com/2011/03/spring-color-top-5-picks-for-2011.html

March 22, 2011 at 4:34 pmLove this dress! I ordered it from Old Navy and can’t wait to receive it. Great outfit idea! I don’t do tough, but I do natural. So, I plan to wear it with my tan leather Indigo by Clarks Bordeaux sandals, and a wide braided sueded leather belt of the same color. I’ll carry my yellow leather tote which has tan leather handles, and wear gold hoop earings. This dress just breathes Spring!

March 22, 2011 at 4:36 pmJust read some of the other comments. Lemon, I had that same shirt. I loved it too, wore the heck out of it, and wish it would come back! The fact that they came out with this dress makes me hopeful. If it comes back, I’m buying 3, lol. :)

March 22, 2011 at 7:47 pmI love that dress– and I love that it is so inexpensive! I teach first grade, and I wouldn’t be able to risk wearing a white dress that cost any more than that. :)

March 23, 2011 at 7:53 amI agree about toughening it up a bit – even if I don’t do that too often. Love the pink ring with it and the dark bag. You’re such a stylish mamasita!

March 23, 2011 at 11:52 amLove that dress! I don’t usually wear a skirt length that much above the knee, so I think I’d wear it as a tunic over skinny jeans or leggings. Something about cotton eyelet definitely calls out for organic accessories, too: leather, braiding, metals.

March 23, 2011 at 9:49 pmYou have a gift. I don’t know how you do it, but when I go to that Old Navy site it’s all junk, teenager-y stuff. And then whammo, one of your style posts appear with funky little find! Time to get myself over to the store!

March 24, 2011 at 10:04 amI agree with the above poster, Danielle! You have a gift! :) I look and look online but, I don’t have style vision!
Can’t wait for you to do some more posts on affordable fashion and maybe even swim suit sources!
Oh side note, I’ve lost 5 lbs pretty quickly thanks to the line graph visual! Still have oodles to loose but, it’s such a helpful visual tool for weight loss! So thank you!
