Oh, you guys. I know what you were waiting for. All weekend you thought “ooh, if only I could see those creepy giant head vases Nicole bought again.”
You’re in luck!
They’re huge, and believe me, I know that not all of you like them. But I do. And I think I still prefer them in the living room, but we need some art above the sofa to balance their size. So maybe they’ll live in the dining room for a while? It will be great for when I totally lose my marbles. Instant dinner party guests!

October 3, 2011 at 10:00 amHaha! Your post just made my day.

October 3, 2011 at 10:03 amNicole, I don’t know how I missed your first post about them… but they are seriously awesome! A bit creepy and surprising but still awesome :) Now I want a pair of hipster chia pets for my own place!

October 3, 2011 at 10:06 amI don’t find them creepy at all. They’re like a Jonathan Adler interpretation of Carmen Miranda and her somewhat more conservative husband (save for the flowers on his head)George.
Giulia
October 3, 2011 at 10:43 amThey are a little creepy, but cool. I bet you could really work with them for Halloween.
I found this post on dollhouses that you might enjoy. It’s in German, but the images might give you some inspiration and some of the images link to English sites.

October 3, 2011 at 10:48 amI like them, but think they’d show off better (and less creepy) with green plants growing out of their skulls instead of the pink lilies. Definitely conversation pieces!

October 3, 2011 at 10:52 amI think I like them better in the dining room! I am a bigger fan of the Dream of Stars quilt in the living room (but I also understand the need for a bit of change).
Making it Lovely
October 4, 2011 at 12:15 amI still love that quilt too, but I think it’s time for something new. I might have another spot for the quilt.

October 3, 2011 at 10:58 amI really like them on the dining room table! If you do put them back on the living room end tables, maybe you need taller lamps? Or may I be so bold as to suggest that they would look nice on a shelf above the couch? They are definitely statement pieces and deserve much attention…! :)
Amy
October 3, 2011 at 10:58 amhaha! I love them! I agree with Giulia, you could really play up the creepy for Halloween.

October 3, 2011 at 11:02 amI loooove these desperately, and my husband would cock his head sideways, if they weren’t so dang expensive I would own some myself!
Lisa
October 3, 2011 at 11:03 amThey’re cute and quirky. I do, however, think some green folliage would top them off better than the lilies. While I love lilies, they look like a left-over bridesmaid bouquet with the whispy greens mixed in. Simple green folliage will bring more attention to the heads themselves, rather than compete for attention. What a great place for an herb garden! :)

October 3, 2011 at 11:04 amNo! I ADORE them. I want a pair for myself! Only, I’d put some succulents in them! (Maybe some hens’n’chicks?)
Sabrina
October 3, 2011 at 11:09 amI love them! They make me laugh and, really, what more can you ask for.
Gina
October 3, 2011 at 11:09 amThese make me laugh every time I look at them. Brilliant – BRILLIANT I tell you!
Amanda
October 3, 2011 at 11:09 amFor some reason I like them better in the dining room then I do in the living room. It may be because they’re together, rather than far apart (well, far meaning the width of the couch) so they seem to “go together” more rather than being there and trying to be symmetrical.
I don’t think they are creepy but I do agree with the playing up the “creepiness” for Halloween. Having spiders coming out of their head or something.

October 3, 2011 at 11:15 amThese are the goofiest vases I’ve ever seen!! Love them! hahaha!

October 3, 2011 at 11:35 amI love them! I agree with the commenter above – I think succulents would be awesome in them! And I like them better in the dining room than the living room.

October 3, 2011 at 11:36 amI’m still laughing. You are awesome for owning your style, creepy heads and all. I actually am surprised that they are so large, I always thought they were much smaller. Your dining room looks great btw.

October 3, 2011 at 11:47 amoh i love them….but have place to put them, but i do like your idea of permanent dinner guests :)

October 3, 2011 at 12:16 pmAgree with the others that the lilies don’t work. Otherwise I think they are fun!
Lauren
October 3, 2011 at 12:28 pmI totally want them…but they are a lil out of my price range. Im waiting till I move into a larger space, and then will definitely reconsider.
Renee
October 3, 2011 at 12:55 pmI like them, but I think the man needs a green plant instead of flowers….lol…kinda like a comb-over.

October 3, 2011 at 1:17 pmWhat does Eleanor think of them? And I agree with the comment that would look beautiful with green plants. Maybe succulents with some hanging ivy for the woman’s hair?
Making it Lovely
October 4, 2011 at 12:17 amEleanor is indifferent. She usually has an opinion when I change things in the house, but she doesn’t seem to interested in them.

October 3, 2011 at 2:20 pmSorry, they are so creepy. I don’t like them at all. Perhaps hidden in a corner and definitely with green in their ‘heads’. Make me think of a funeral.

October 3, 2011 at 2:35 pmI love them! In fact, I already own the mustache man. Planted him with some new moss just yesterday.

October 3, 2011 at 6:09 pmI love them ! They’re funny and light hearted – so much decor/housey stuff is soo serious. These are a nice change.

October 3, 2011 at 6:36 pmI likem! You could send messages with them to your hubby…angry? face them away from each other. Feeling affectionate? They could face each other closely. Really angry? face away at opposite ends of the table. Hehe!
Making it Lovely
October 4, 2011 at 12:19 amThat would be pretty funny!

October 3, 2011 at 7:23 pmI’m sorry, I love your design sense, but I can’t stand these guys – they seriously creep me out, lol.

October 3, 2011 at 10:32 pmI think these are really cool. I like them in your dinning room. Your living room was just so pretty, it is hard for us to let it go and see it change, haha!

October 4, 2011 at 2:53 pmI love the heads! And I love all the white in the dining room. So sophisticated.

October 5, 2011 at 9:32 amI love, love, love the vase heads or head vases, but at the same time they totally creep me out – the man doesn’t seem to give me the wiggins as much as the woman, something about the mustache makes it a little more silly than creepy, I think. . . and now I’ve officially spent too much time pondering your vases
Sarah
October 5, 2011 at 11:09 amI love them!
But the questions remains……Do they have names?

October 14, 2011 at 6:06 am[…] Love these white ceramic head things. They’re way creepy. I have no idea why they were made miniature, but they remind me of these real size ceramic vases (also seen on Nicole’s at Making It Lovely dining room table). […]
