I never know how to pose for pictures, let alone pictures of me in my roller derby gear. Angry face? Tried it. I’m not tough! So a wink it is. *Wink!*
I’m such a dork.

December 5, 2011 at 4:01 pmLove it! You look fantastic.
One of my clients is an original flat track rollergirl from Austin, TX. She wrote the book Rollergirl: Totally True Tales From the Flat Track. She’s PERFECTED the mean tough face (but is in reality a total sweetheart).

Kathleen (formerly KatAtomic 3000)

December 6, 2011 at 11:45 pmLots of derby girls are total sweethearts! It’s funny, the perception vs. the reality.

December 5, 2011 at 4:42 pmYou look awesome. I love the wink. It makes the picture look like a lot of fun.

December 5, 2011 at 5:22 pma bone crunching, elbow bashing, floor shredding dork. I totally love it! What a great alter ego!

December 5, 2011 at 5:27 pmUm, you don’t have to have a tough face, when you are in roller derby! That’s intimidation enough, in my mind. :)
Erin
December 5, 2011 at 5:41 pmYou look so much like Eleanor in this picture!

December 5, 2011 at 6:00 pmLove it! Even the track is pink to match.

December 5, 2011 at 6:51 pmAWESOME! Hey dorks of the world unite! You have fabulous design with the occasional roller derby, Storm Troopers and zombie-attack wedding photos thrown in. What more could you ask for in a blog?
Love it, I do! (there’s some Yoda for ya.)
BTW, my fourteen-year-old son has determined that Home Depot is the best place to be in a zombie apocalypse just so you’re prepared… Now that I think of it, you could have an interesting roller-derby in Home Depot too…

December 5, 2011 at 7:50 pmI’m with Erin; you look just like your daughter–or more accurately, I can really see that she looks like you when I look at this picture.

December 5, 2011 at 9:12 pmSo cute! The wink works!

December 5, 2011 at 11:11 pmLove the picture! I think the wink works. I usually go for a half smile/smirk in my headshots.
I always look like such a dork in game pictures. Either my mouth is open and all you can see is mouth guard or the photographer catches me in mid-blink.
Did you get a chance to watch the final game in the World Cup yesterday? Although Team USA spanked Team Canada, I’m still really proud of the way my country’s team played.

December 6, 2011 at 11:47 pmI took my mouth guard out for the pictures! I saw some of the early bouts, but I wasn’t able to catch the final ones. I bet it was great fun to watch.

December 5, 2011 at 11:48 pmHow awesome was the World Cup? With personal friends and team mates in Team Australia, it made it extra exciting.

December 6, 2011 at 11:49 amNow see.. I just don’t get it.
You do look cute as all get out, but I don’t get the whole roller derby thing. It seems like a lot of aggression to me.
Making it Lovely
December 6, 2011 at 11:50 pmI like a little competition now and then, more than aggression. But we don’t scrimmage much — I’m focused on improving my skating skills.

I make my bout debut this weekend and I’m so excited.
How’s your training?

December 6, 2011 at 11:51 pmI’m not getting better as quickly as I’d like, but I can’t devote more than once a week to it (and I’ve missed some weeks lately too).

December 6, 2011 at 11:41 pmOkay, I feel like an idiot, but I have to ask about your name. I’m assuming it’s some kind of play on words, but I can’t figure out what it’s referring to? (I have a feeling I’m going to feel really dumb once it’s explained…)
