The kids have a new favorite toy, and so do I. And Santa filled our stockings with fun things. (I forgot to show you this little part of our home, all decorated for Christmas. There are brass deer.)
My Secret Santa was good to me too. I still don’t know who it is though! Another package arrived, this time with a set of personalized colored pencils nestled in more pink tinsel. Eleanor has been decorating the tree with the sparkly pink garland.
And then, a separate shipment arrived. Is it from my Secret Santa as well? It came directly from the shop, so no packaging to tip me off. It’s from someone who knows me well though — I wrote about wanting one of these camera straps a while back.
Santa is very thoughtful.

December 26, 2011 at 6:50 pmWhat are you using to hang the stockings on your built-in china cabinet? We have a similar setup, but I haven’t found a good, secure way to hang all of our stockings on our built-in. Thanks!

December 28, 2011 at 9:37 amI don’t think I’ve commented before but I’ve always loved browsing your blog. I’ve been a big fan of your style for a while. I LOVE the pencils and the camera strap – how nice of your Secret Santa!
I’m finally starting to figure out the whole balancing act of mom, wife, full time work, and blogging. It’s tough but so worth it. Thanks for your continued inspiration and I’m excited to see your new blog design.

December 28, 2011 at 10:55 amI love that lens- it was the first real lens I ever bought! Also, just wanted to say that I think it’s really refreshing to read that your kids have and love a “commercial” type of toy. Sometimes in blogland I feel like a less-than-perfect parent if I don’t have the natural wood nursery with all organically knit stuffed animals. As you mentioned in the article, we have some of those special things, but my kids really love the toys from the big box stores too. Anyhow, just nice to read! :)

January 1, 2012 at 10:19 pmOh my gosh! The Fisher Price Zoo. My kids’ favorite too. They’ve outgrown the toy, but every now and again still love to see a Little People DVD :). Seeing your post made me realize how fast they are growing and how we have to stop and enjoy every moment with them, because you don’t get it back!!
