Our final look in this edition of Making it Yours (MiY) is here! MiY is all about making the pieces you love work for you and your changing life over time. We’ve seen the Sierra Chest in two versions of a bedroom for our fictional heroes, Adam and Sadie Green. We’re back again, and this time they are indeed about to have their lives changed…
The Greens are expecting their first baby in just a few months! Adam loved the job that brought him and Sadie out to San Francsico, but the hours he was putting in were getting crazy. He’s now with another company, still developing games, but working a normal 40-hour week, and for more money to boot. A new teaching year begins for Sadie next week. She’ll take her maternity leave when her son comes (they’re having a boy!), and then return to her classroom.
The Greens are excited, and nervous, and elated, and they’re going to be just fine.
The chest of drawers has stayed constant throughout this edition of MiY, but there are other common elements as well. Just as you or I might take things in our home and reuse them in other rooms, so too have Adam and Sadie. The art and lamp from the first bedroom design are now in the living room, and the pillow from the second bedroom look is here as well.

August 14, 2012 at 6:58 amSorry, the numbers getting cut off is a known issue, but I haven’t been able to diagnose the problem. I hope to fix it at some point.

August 14, 2012 at 1:32 amOh my goodness! That chair is an exact replica of a vintage one that has been in my family since the 50s. My mom thought it was junk, so I saved it from the dumpster. Does this mean my chair could be famous? ;)

August 14, 2012 at 3:35 amI love the modern chair! I just don’t love the price, and worry that since it is from UO, it isn’t quality…
Has anyone bought furniture from them?
