This photo of Jay-Z and Marina Abramovic made my day. He’s got 99 problems — maybe performance artists are one.

The BlogHer conference is in Chicago this year. It starts next week!
I’ve heard good things and I’ve heard bad things, and I bought a ticket to go and check it out. One irrefutable fact is that the conference is huge, which is a little intimidating for this introvert. Will any of you be there? -
Um, new Powerpuff Girls?
(Please be good…) -
A new Gogol Bordello song!

Just a cool Victorian house. (I fell down a rabbit hole of internet real estate searches.)
-
12 ideas for decorating with a colorful sofa.

So many great new pieces from west elm.
Glad to see copper making an appearance! And oh boy, that Sculpted Geo Console. -
Not handy with a hex wrench? Fear not: Flat pack furniture you can assemble without tools.

July 19, 2013 at 9:37 pmThe live edge entry shelf and cube sculpture are making my West Elm card sweat a little. I reeeeeally like the overall aesthetic of this new stuff. Kinda seems like they’ve been taking design inspiration from blogs, eh?

July 19, 2013 at 9:46 pmI’m going to BlogHer! First time. Totally freaking nervous and excited. I do so much better in a group of 60 than I do 6,000.
Making it Lovely
July 19, 2013 at 11:37 pmSame here! I love Alt Summit, because it’s so design blog niche-specific and I feel like I know a ton of people, but even that can be overwhelming with only 600 people. Is BlogHer really 6000? Yikes.

July 20, 2013 at 9:15 amso many good links today! I love Powerpuff girls and have high expectations now :) And they even have Ringo! “The Beatalls” was one of my favorite episodes!
I also love Gogol Bordello, never would have thought you did too. And that house is pure magic.
