That whole moving thing threw me off, and I missed last week’s Honor Roll post. Normally I’d split things 50/50 with stuff I’d found and stuff I’d written elsewhere, but this week is all about those other posts o’mine. Self-promotion, ahoy!

Hey now! First post at another new writing gig: Eye spy. (I matched glasses to interiors. Humor me, but I think it was a fun post.)
-
The modern Victorian. 13 rooms that I’ve been inspired by lately for the new house. The ideas! They’re a’percolating!
-
H&M’s new home line has my attention.
-
This is a genius DIY chain link fence cover-up. So good! So cheap!
-
Get the look: an all-white room with one strong accent color.
-
Scalamandré-esque zebra wrapping paper. (Think this will satiate my little Eleanor’s zebra wallpaper fixation?)
-
Need some tips on using painter’s tape? Boom.
-
Or maybe you’ve a different tape in mind? Washi tape organization. (Also: boom.)
-
I totally missed an opportunity with my green basement stairs. Should have added stripes.
-
Would you buy or DIY a Saarinen Tulip Table?

August 9, 2013 at 8:27 amThank you for the H&M link! 5 pillows were just bought without my husband’s consent. Good thing I only spend $30!

August 10, 2013 at 11:24 amThe new line is kinda dangerous for our wallets! At least it’s an affordable kind of dangerous.

August 9, 2013 at 2:26 pmI saw that wrapping paper and contemplated running up to Paper Source to get it for a little trash can Mod Podge action, but decided to go with the simpler option and just paint it instead. The stripes are cute, but not gonna lie. Kinda regretting not using that awesome paper.
And thanks for the H&M round-up. I was a little overwhelmed by the selection so your editing is appreciated.

August 9, 2013 at 4:44 pmIn regards to modern Victorian style, have you checked out the Marion House Book blog? She’s maybe a bit more global/eclectic than you, but I can see some overlap in your styles, and h house is a Victorian. Definitely check her out!

August 9, 2013 at 8:02 pmOh, gosh it was a hard week… sure for you too but what about me? I mean I didn’t realise till you weren’t posting daily how much I love and depend on this blog (and kinda struggle with change)! Not having my daily MIL fix was hard. Soooo glad you’re back and wishing you a whole lot of fun as you post about the new place.
Big Fan. xxx

August 11, 2013 at 8:56 pmOmg! Your H&M tip cost me three pillows (I mean…black and white stripes for $6?!?) and a linen duvet set! Not to mention some cute stuff for my girls…dangerous but at those prices…pulse the 20% coupon codes…I feel like I majorly scored!! Can anyone attest to the quality of their linen goods? I’m really hoping it’s good!!

August 11, 2013 at 9:38 pmI haven’t seen any of it in person. I hope it’s good! The prices are fantastic, that’s for sure.

August 12, 2013 at 8:46 amI’m afraid my DIY skills are no where near capable of painting a marble finish on a tabletop- wow, that’s impressive. So, for me DI-Buy it is!
