Hi! Five months pregnant and looking the part!
dress: Old Navy (past season) • bracelet: kate spade new york (similar) • earrings: Small Sqare Studs, kate spade new york • glasses: Mallory, Warby Parker • bag: New York Francis Tote, c/o kate spade new york • shoes: Kate Spade Saturday (similar here and here)
I was sent a Francis Tote from kate spade new york and asked to share what I like to bring with me when I’m traveling. The bag is exclusive to their Hampton store, but it’s also carried online at Bloomingdales and Saks.
So, what’s in my bag when I’m on the go? I tend to pack light, mostly with what I have in my purse normally, plus a little extra something to read. Depending on where and with whom I’m going, I might have my laptop with me (in a cute laptop sleeve like this one), but I didn’t include it here. Let’s take a peek at what is inside…
-
Holly Street Clear Francis Tote, c/o kate spade new york
What better bag for a “what’s in my bag” post? -
Chambray Infinity Loop Scarf, fashionABLE
I never fully hopped aboard the chambray trend, but this scarf goes with just about everything. -
Leather Sunglasses Case, Rebecca Minkoff
Brandon gave me this case for Christmas a couple of years ago after I wrote about it here. -
Hepcat Shades, Madewell
Well, if I already had the case, I had to go pick up the sunglasses from that post too, right? -
Photo Finish Odometer Coin Purse, c/o kate spade new york
The perfect little pouch to have with you on a road trip! I have lipstick, a barrette (because I might be growing out my hair?), and a few other small things inside. -
Keys, with Tassel Keychain
The funny thing about having a blog like mine is that you can go back and see when you got something. I’ve had this keychain since 2010, apparently. Still goin’ strong! -
Anthology Magazine, The Book of Vice: Very Naughty Things (and How to Do Them), by Peter Sagal, a Notebook, and a Pen
Something pretty to look through, something funny and quick to read, and something for jotting down notes. All set. -
Botanical Rose iPhone Case, Rifle Paper Co.
I gave a matching case to my mom too, so we’re twinsies. -
Blood Orange & Honey Organic Hard Candy, Torie & Howard
Pregnant, remember? I’m still craving orange/citrus all the live long day. -
Legacy Metallic French Purse Wallet, Coach
Hello, wallet! I’ve had you since my first style post in 2008. You were a splurge, and I’d say well worth it, since you’re still around with no plans for replacement.

May 21, 2014 at 2:03 pmOh. My. You look adorable Nicole! For sure, I should get rid of my pony tail. Get a “bubble” hair do like you have. Just nice. How you feeling? Does bebe kick around a lot? Ouch. Well, all your books are a nice background to this photo! Carry all is marvelous. Huge. When I was in sales at Lord & Taylor & Limited, we had to use these types of bags. Color is amazingly perfect for summer! Case for sunglasses is too awesome. I’d like that for my birthday next month. Aww. Gotta keep & stick with promises …. no purchases. Anything. New or old. Boo. P.S. Totally enjoy when you entertain us!

May 21, 2014 at 2:05 pmOkay, this post contains two of my all-time favorites: Kate Spade and Polka Dots! I got my first KS purse a couple of years ago and it’s still going strong. And you look absolutely adorable in that dress.
P.S. – Did you know that KS is having a surprise sale right now? It ends today (I think…). Up to 75% off. ;)

May 21, 2014 at 3:24 pmLove this! That is such a fun tote, but wow, I don’t think I could use it on a regular basis. My bags are always crusted with goldfish cracker crumbs inside… but I do love me some Kate Spade!! Being that I’m 6.5 months pregnant right now, I’m acutely aware of how hard it is to dress this ever-changing body and how few options there actually are… wouldn’t it be awesome if Kate Spade did a line of maternity clothes??? Are you listening Kate?? :):):)

May 22, 2014 at 12:59 pmIt would be so good. That black and white striped dress they always have, but as a maternity option? I want that in my closet!

May 21, 2014 at 3:57 pmsuch a cute dress from Old Navy
Making it Lovely
May 22, 2014 at 12:57 pmIt’s a good one. I don’t think I’ll be able to get away with wearing it for much longer though — the belly is causing it to look pretty short!

May 21, 2014 at 5:06 pmYou are so stylish, coordinating pink pen and all! I wish my bag was half as cute; it’s full of goldfish cracker crumbs, receipts/mail, a boring black wallet and an old metal measuring tape. It smells kinda funny too, LOL. Time to take some notes and make some upgrades!

May 22, 2014 at 7:02 amNicole! Your hair is lookin’ banging!
Making it Lovely
May 22, 2014 at 1:00 pmThanks! I feel like it’s in this weird limbo stage. Am I growing it out, or chopping it short again? And I’ve let it go dye-free, too, but as much as I love grey hair on other women, I don’t know if I’m all for it quite yet…

May 22, 2014 at 2:08 pmErma Gerd! Do you look just scrumptious and huggable or what…So many books, so little time-any hoo the pictures of you and Dear One are just too sweet and we are so happy for you both and the littles. Enjoy your second decade, we are on our sixth. Gawd- Can we really be this old! I’d go check in a mirror but it just ruins the rest of the day…………

August 1, 2018 at 11:01 pmDo you still have the clear and red Kate Spade bag and if so, would you be willing to part with it if you no longer use it? My job just enforced a clear/transparent bag only rule and it’s been interesting trying to find one.
