I’m a more patient mom with enough sleep. A more creative designer, a better partner, a better everything. For me, getting enough rest means not pushing myself to stay up and do one more thing because if I can just get myself into bed at a reasonable time, I can usually fall asleep pretty easily. If you’re someone that has a harder time of it though (like my better half), Sleep Number has some great tips for better sleep.
We’re loving our new mattress, and I’m pretty into checking the SleepIQ™ feedback that the bed provides. I knew from talking to Brandon that he doesn’t sleep as soundly as I do, but look at the difference in our data. And this is a big improvement for him! He used to get even less rest before.
Those numbers are from a few weeks ago, and it’s cool to see in the app how they’ve improved and changed over time. Brandon’s paying attention to his patterns and implementing some helpful sleep solutions, using that information to find better sleep.
I was thinking about it and I realized that we’re opposites with other furniture too. I love our teal couch in the living room because it’s deep and the cushions are so soft. He prefers much more firm seating, like our beige armchairs or the black and white sofa in the library. Having a mattress that adjusts on each side has been really great for us! I keep my side at 40 and he’s most comfortable at 65 — a big difference. It’s a fantastic bed for couples, and they can tailor the right solution for you in store.

July 13, 2017 at 5:11 pmThe closest store to us is in Marlborough, MA. My husband and I definitely don’t get enough sleep because we are tossing and turning a lot. We both complain about back and neck discomfort in the mornings. And we also have different mattress preferences (I like a softer mattress and he likes one more firm). A sleep number would be perfect for us!

July 13, 2017 at 6:14 pmWe’ve got many store options in Chicago and the near ‘burbs. We’ve tried memory foam and traditional spring mattresses, and all I want is a mattress that doesn’t get lumpy. If there’s one that stops snoring, that would be popular in our house, too.

July 13, 2017 at 10:23 pmMy closest store is the Town East Mall store in Mesquite, Texas.
My husband and I have been married four years. Our first matress was an old one someone loaned us. We slept on it for 1 year and then moved across the country with hardly anything for an internship. We slept on a very thin air mattress for nearly six months; four of those months, the air matress would deflate after just a few hours, and we essentially would end up on the hardwood floor. It was rough. But it shaped us and we worked hard as interns. We finally decided to buy a matress we could afford and bought a bed in a box from Walmart. A full size was the only size that would fit in our apartment though (three sides of the matress touched walls!!) Fast forward nearly three years.. we are still sleeping on that full size matress, and it is nearly at the end of its time with sagging on both sides. After a very rough pregnancy and delivery, we just had our first baby three months ago, too. I’ve spent a lot of time in bed recovering and our baby ends up in our bed nearly every night. We are all very squished on that full size bed, for sure! We would love to upgrade to a queen someday, and one that doesn’t sag! Haha!

July 14, 2017 at 12:33 amFunny thing that I came across this right now. As I was driving home earlier I saw a sleep number bed delivery truck driving. I wondered in my head, “what magic does this sleep number thing hold that I keep hearing and seeing about it all around”?
My husband snores. Like bad. He has a sleep apnea machine but he doesn’t always use it all night. I also have a very clingy boxer dog who tries to get as close to me as possible all night long. I need the most comfortable spot for “me” to sleep all night long despite all of the distractions I have to deal with. Oh, I forgot to mention the 2 little humans that I created that also try to horn in on my sleep time. lol
Now that I think about it maybe I just need my own room. :)
