Brandon and I finally finished decorating the house for Christmas. We were thinking about getting a real tree again (last year’s was so pretty), or maybe a big white fake tree, but we ended up using the little silver tree that we already had. It’s cute, just a little too small.
Our white ceramic deer made an appearance again on the buffet, this time surrounded by silver ornament garland (picked up on sale at Pottery Barn).
We don’t have a fireplace, so we hang our stockings on the built-in buffet.
And again, because we are lacking a fireplace mantle, I decided to decorate the TV stand.
There are those twee little reindeer again.
The paillettes that were in our old apartment are back out on display.
And I couldn’t let the sequin balls go without use another year, so I put them on my desk. They’re a little ridiculous, but they make me smile.
Tis the season!

December 11, 2008 at 7:38 pmI love it! My ornaments are so traditional. I do love them, and I love how every single one has a story behind it, but I do admit to looking longingly at the more modern ornaments that come out every year.

December 11, 2008 at 7:39 pmI love it! I have to ask – where did you find your white TV?

December 11, 2008 at 7:41 pmI love, love, love your silver tree. It makes me want to rush out and find one for myself. I’ve yet to do one bit of Christmas decorating and I’m a bit envious of how holiday-esque everything looks at your place. Can I move in? :)

December 11, 2008 at 7:45 pmOh, I forgot. I DID look for a small silver tree for the boy’s toy room, but came up dry. It was like someone was trying to tell me, “Give up. You’ll never be cool.”

But I must ask where did you find that white dove? It’s beautiful!

December 11, 2008 at 10:58 pmSimply beautiful! I agree, the glam sequin balls ARE ridiculous, but I still like them. Oh, wonderful everything looks in your newly wallpapered dining room!! Keep up the good work!

December 12, 2008 at 10:48 amI like the idea of the stockings on the buffet. We don’t have a fireplace either so we hang ours on the wall with those 3M Command hooks, next to our thermostat as a nod to it being our “fireplace” :)

December 12, 2008 at 10:59 amI love the sequin balls, they’re so much fun. I would leave them up all year round :) Those sweet little reindeer are adorable. They would be so cute on a shelf in a little girls room…..speaking of little girl, congratulations on your baby news.
take care,
Lisa

Thanks!

December 13, 2008 at 8:25 amI love your style – it is so clean and simple, but with lots of kick! I am giving ornaments as a wedding gift (friends getting married in December) and I love your initial ornaments on your tree – perfect idea for a newlywed couple! May I ask where you found those?

December 13, 2008 at 11:36 amBeth, those were from Restoration Hardware last year.
Elizabeth, the desk was by Blu Dot for The Container Store and the red drawers are the Helmer unit from IKEA.
Liz, I’m not sure, but I think the dove was a Christmas decoration from Target a few years ago.
Kathleen, Brandon ordered the TV from Amazon. It’s a Sharp Aquos.

December 15, 2008 at 3:55 pmI particularly like the way you dressed up the TV. That’s always a tricky thing to decorate without making it look just silly.
Oh, and I so envy you your built-in sideboard. It’s gorgeous!
Merry Christmas!

December 15, 2008 at 4:18 pmJust lovely!
Be sure to get one of those “fireplace” dvd’s so it looks like you have a fireplace.

December 24, 2008 at 2:30 pmCongrats on your pregnancy! I LOVE your style!! I love Ikea and Anthropology and could see right away you do too, right? Real Question: Do you have a priter in your office? It looks so neat (like the rest of your house). Mine takes up half my desk area and would love your look.
Carla
December 24, 2008 at 2:31 pmI meant PRINTER, sorry.
