There are some excellent resolution backgrounds at the To Resolve Project. I love that one to the right: “Work like you don’t need the money (but then, you know, get the money).”

This video perfectly captures the mood at Alt. And it was fun to see my panel shown, about 30 seconds in!

Eeeek! How’d you like to sleep in this every night?

These Model-morphosis sliders let you go between bare-faced and totally made up for the runway. The transformations are fascinating.

I know this has been making the rounds and you’ve probably seen it by now, but come on. How cute is Kristen Bell?
-
I am flipping over the Florence Broadhurst collection for Kate Spade. One of my favorite florals ever, mixed with liberal doses of pink and on cute, ladylike clothes? Dying.

You need these oven mitts. (Yes, need.)
-
Your fridge could be sporting some ice, and I’m not talking about the kind in the freezer.
-
I’m not really a ‘tote’ person (I prefer more structured bags), but I’m loving these. The reversible heart one? Yes, please.
-
Stumped for a Valentine’s Day gift? How about this?
-
Kids’ furniture that costs as much as (or more than!) their adult counterparts. So pretty, but would you splurge?

February 3, 2012 at 2:01 pmResolve project is amazing. Thanks for sharing. I also love the alt video, have to say, I’m kind of inspired, just from the video. Happy weekend!

February 3, 2012 at 3:09 pmWhat would I do without you to keep me relevant. (or as my husband says re le VANT) I did see the Kristen Bell Video already and it completely creeped me out. That food meets fashion is genius and leads to all sorts of things. Click “Vintage” and you can see a collection of covers from 60’s pulp type paperbacks. Hysterical. The Resolve Project was fascinating and I pinned a few. Thanks Ann

February 3, 2012 at 3:25 pmNicole- OMG, that IS the most adorable floral ever! I could so see you in that dress… except I would rather it be either chocolate brown or fuscia flowers for you. Love love love.
As for the furniture….If there was one thing I learned over my years of spending money on my kids it was this: money spent on high quality classic toys, art supplies, classic games, puzzles & books as well as money spent on museum memberships, memorable vacations & other outings/experiences was most often money well spent. But money spent on high end designer kiddie fashion, trendy toys & plush animals, the latest electronics, as well as toys/dolls that appealed more to my own inner child than my kids (like every new Beanie Baby ever invented and every version of Muffy Vanderbear and American Girl doll), and last but certainly not least, money spent on high end nursery furniture and other such decorative foo foo… was, sadly, money WASTED. Money I now wish I had back to spend on my kids more wisely. Money to sock away for college tuition or a well-deserved post-college European walk-about, or a down payment on a first home. Having said all this, I still advocate making things lovely! Just follow role models like Nicole who do it sensibly and frugally….and your entire family will be all the better (and figuratively speaking ‘richer’) for it! Nicole… Thanks for letting me give this advice and thanks for Making it SENSIBLY lovely! hugs to you.
