I’ve been wanting to do something different with the bathroom on the main floor. The only thing stopping me is that I have no idea what I want to do with the space. I was looking at my Pinterest bathroom board today though, and I realized that I do have a look I’m pretty consistently drawn to. Behold.
Oh man, do I love that sink (I almost went with it when I was working on our laundry room). I think our bathroom could get the same look if I painted our pedestal tub black (it’s currently forest green), kept our existing white wall-mounted sink, and put a black seat on the toilet. White paint for the walls, a new shower curtain… a plan is starting to come together.

October 3, 2012 at 4:43 pmI’ve found the same thing helpful with my pinterest boards. I’m still figuring out my style, and going back and looking at my boards have made it pretty clear. I had no idea I liked white cabinets so much!

October 3, 2012 at 5:39 pmI have a vintage 1950’s black and white tile bath. I’ve painted the walls aqua and have a bright floral shower curtain and fuchsia towels. It’s bright and happy. I never thought of replacing the white toilet seat with another color. I love the idea of a black seat. I’d like to bring in a little more black and my white one is chipped and needs to be replaced anyway! Thanks for the idea.

One even got a little notice here: http://thirdstory-ies.blogspot.com/2010/08/interesting.html Just make sure you get the right primer and paint for the cast iron surface and a moisture filled room or you’ll have a rusty mess.
Your images above are really nice to see. Our girls’ bathroom is very bright and colorful, but I’m thinking of ways to interject a little (but still less) color into our master bathroom which is just black and white.
I love that shower curtain in the first one too.

We gave the room a SMALL (under $100) when we bought the place but now are looking for a long-term spruce up. I’d love to go black & white with a kick of coral (towels and accessories…so we can swap out).
