Black and White Bathroom Inspiration

I’ve been wanting to do something different with the bathroom on the main floor. The only thing stopping me is that I have no idea what I want to do with the space. I was looking at my Pinterest bathroom board today though, and I realized that I do have a look I’m pretty consistently drawn to. Behold.

Oh man, do I love that sink (I almost went with it when I was working on our laundry room). I think our bathroom could get the same look if I painted our pedestal tub black (it’s currently forest green), kept our existing white wall-mounted sink, and put a black seat on the toilet. White paint for the walls, a new shower curtain… a plan is starting to come together.

I’m not usually a fan of black and white but I like the retro vibe here- very inviting :)

I’ve found the same thing helpful with my pinterest boards. I’m still figuring out my style, and going back and looking at my boards have made it pretty clear. I had no idea I liked white cabinets so much!

I have a vintage 1950’s black and white tile bath. I’ve painted the walls aqua and have a bright floral shower curtain and fuchsia towels. It’s bright and happy. I never thought of replacing the white toilet seat with another color. I love the idea of a black seat. I’d like to bring in a little more black and my white one is chipped and needs to be replaced anyway! Thanks for the idea.

To me, the secret to gorgeous bathrooms is picking colors that look good on white. Black and white obviously were a match made in heaven!

I was just looking at my Pinterest “dream home” board the other night and saw so many common themes throughout. It goes to show that I think we are definitely drawn to a certain look. I think painting that bathtub is an awesome idea.

You make me tired! Whoa, takes a lot of energy to do all that AND have a family with little ones. I’m impressed. Love black and white with splash of red. The tub is my favorite.

I love the tubs – we have two old ones, and they are black on the bottom as well. One even got a little notice here: http://thirdstory-ies.blogspot.com/2010/08/interesting.html Just make sure you get the right primer and paint for the cast iron surface and a moisture filled room or you’ll have a rusty mess.

Your images above are really nice to see. Our girls’ bathroom is very bright and colorful, but I’m thinking of ways to interject a little (but still less) color into our master bathroom which is just black and white.

I love that shower curtain in the first one too.

We’re currently redoing our master bathroom in a black+white look. Its a huge in progress with our ugly blue tile needing to be painted over. But I love the simple color scheme!

I love this look! I also love that you can you Pinterest to figure out what your eye is most drawn to! That’s one of my favorite things about using it. Designing your own home can be so overwhelming when you like so much.

I just started following your bathroom board…it’s amazing! We inherited a clawfoot tub (in the room when we bought our house) and are determined to make it work! We gave the room a SMALL (under $100) when we bought the place but now are looking for a long-term spruce up. I’d love to go black & white with a kick of coral (towels and accessories…so we can swap out).

i’ve had your second pic on my inspiration list for a new bathroom too. i followed the link posted in comments to find that sink but it only pops up with a kohler version with three faucets. does anyone know where i can find a model with the standard two? i’m looking for something bathroom friendly as opposed to utility or laundry room.
