Brandon and I took Eleanor to Brookfield Zoo on Saturday. It’s only fifteen minutes away, and we thought that going there would be a fun way to spend the day. As expected, Eleanor was a little too young (4 months old) to really pay attention to the animals, but the people, Motor Safari cars, and wild geese were big hits. There are a few photos over on flickr, but I wanted to share my favorite. Quintessential Eleanor…
Furrowed brow, serious and alert, staring intently. Cute.

She’s getting so big, and such a snappy dresser. ;)

August 31, 2009 at 12:00 pmCaption: “Seriously, Mom, you have to know that I’m not quite ready to enjoy the zoo. Believe me, I’ll let you know when the time comes. In the meantime, I’m going to try and play along.” Absolutely adorable expression in the photo. Love the dress!

August 31, 2009 at 5:29 pmSo cute! We hit Brookfield in July when my daughter was 13 months. She got such a kick out of the animals (of course everything was a “doggie”). She was still a bit too small to completely enjoy, but it will be there.

August 31, 2009 at 7:01 pmAre our daughters related? My Chloe always has a furrowed brow. The kid will have wrinkles before she hits pre-school!
Cute pic of Eleanor. And she’s stylish as always :)

August 31, 2009 at 7:37 pmThe question is…did she get her first Mold-a-Rama animal?
Those were always my favorite at Brookfield, I still get one every time I go.

September 1, 2009 at 4:22 pmAwww – love the Brookfield Zoo. I used to work there as a Docent when we lived in Chicago. My daughter had much the same look when we first took her there (although it was much colder so she was all bundled up and hard to see anything other than the face). She did not seem to have the same love of the Pachyderm House that I did.
Mold-a-Rama’s…completely forgot about them. Too funny!
