Would it be weird to have this mirror above my desk? It would have to be high enough so that I couldn’t see myself while I worked because yes, that would be weird. I think it could work with the whole granny chic thing I’m going for.

January 20, 2010 at 1:35 pmIt’s so funny that you single out that mirror in particular, out of the mazillions of round mirrors out there… I’m not a huge Ballard Designs fan but I tore out one page from their last catalog because of that mirror! It’s shown on a living room wall, and I like nothing else in the room but I wanted to save the picture for that mirror! It is pretty cute. Not weird at all. You have such great taste!

It was a gorgeous piece, but set right above her was a mirror. I felt that the design was rather invasive and suggestive of a woman who expresses should never forget to monitor (stifle) her words.

If you like it, you should use it in your office. You can always move it some place else, right?

January 21, 2010 at 11:41 amThe mirror is really cute, but it did cause me to wrinkle my nose when I saw the $200 price tag! It seems like there could be a lot of really nice vintage mirrors out there that could be painted or spruced up a bit for a fraction of the cost.

January 21, 2010 at 7:05 pmI’ve always thought the idea of posting a mirror in your workspace (for Feng Shui so you can see the doorway if your back is to it) would be really weird because, yeah, wouldn’t it be distracting to see yourself working all day? But if it where you could see yourself while working, this would be a really cute addition. I like that mirrors are making a come back–they really do brighten up a space even if “bouncing the light” sounds like a cheesy thing to say ;-).

January 23, 2010 at 10:59 amI have a mirror above my desk. It’s retangular, framed in darkish-brown wood with three little cubbies and hooks beneath. I’ve got a handmade paper ornament hanging from one hook and lots of art cards (gallery show announcements) layered into and sticking out of the cubbies. It’s arty, comforting and inspiring. And it’s high enough that I’m not looking at myself. Now the question would be how feng shui friendly is it? I don’t know.

January 25, 2010 at 7:08 pmi just got this mirror and absolutely love it in my dining room. it would also look awesome over a sofa as a focal point. but in case you didn’t see it in the description, it is huge, over 3′ in diameter. so unless your desk/space is sizable or you like the disproportionate size of the mirror, i’m thinking something smaller might be more suitable??
