I saw David Bowie’s 1979 SNL performances with Klaus Nomi and Joey Arias at the MCA exhibit, but was only able to find audio clips afterward. All three sets from the show have been released now, and they are amazing.

January 22, 2016 at 10:30 amLoved the Elmo article. We are not Sesame Street fans in this house…my kids have only seen a couple of the very first episodes. I do have some old SS books from the 80’s. But that’s it…it’s too unlike the show we grew up with, so we never even went there with the boys. We do LOVE The Muppet Show, though. :)

January 23, 2016 at 8:48 amOh my gosh, thanks for sharing the elmo article! SO well written and it a articulated SO well all the reasons I have disliked Elmo, even in the late 80s when I was in high school I didn’t like him!! My kids are 10 and 6 but from their babyhood we were a no-elmo house and they’re mostly watched (and LOVED) the Sesame Street “old school” dvds and preferred the “old show to the current ones on PBS.
