March 29, 2010 at 1:58 pmI love the fresh flowers in the background- the photographs are staged so consistently, but there’s that little hint of Spring that shows time passing.
You know, these photos are causing the worst baby-fever in the blogosphere!

March 29, 2010 at 4:05 pmIt’s so nice to see her grow and change. Adorable! I have an 8-month-old and enjoy seeing Eleanor who is a few months ahead of my Elizabeth. What fun it is!
And, as an artist, I like seeing the quality of light change in these photos, too. Beautiful work, Nicole. It is clear you enjoy being a mom. (Isn’t it great?)

March 29, 2010 at 4:35 pmSo cute! What happened to your nailhead curtains? I see you decided to put up the yellow ones instead. If you don’t have room for them anywhere else–I’d be happy to buy them from you :). I have the perfect spot for them!

March 30, 2010 at 4:59 amI think it’s a cool idea and you have an adorable little daughter.
I don’t understand why parents have to put photos online. I mean, of course they’re proud and stuff… I totally get that. But.
It’s a debatable point but I think children should decide what things about them will be put online when they’re old enough to consider and live with the consequences.
I mean, I wouldn’t have wanted kids in school to banter me about some (maybe cute but in that situation awkward) photos my mom put online. It’s already enough that she’s telling stories to my g/f and her mom (“oh and when little Nick ate his spinach, the whole kitchen was green afterwards, hehehe”).
Or I wouldn’t want some weird people to come up to my kid and say “Hi, you’re Susy, right? Your mom Sonja sent me to pick you up, she’s had an accident. I’m a collegue from work at the whatever company, so you can trust me.” (… which he all picked up from her blog, of course).
Really no offense intended.

March 30, 2010 at 5:27 amAgreed from a security point of view its better to be safe than sorry. Shame we can’t all show off our kids as much as we’d like, but I guess thats just the way the world is now :( Its a minority we have to worry about obviously – but still the worry is there.
I’ve worked in child protection and there were huge restrictions about what children we could put photos of online and in our print material.
Shes so so gorgeous tho – such a cutie. Can’t believe shes going to be one so soon! Not trying to be offensive either.
Making it Lovely
March 30, 2010 at 10:09 amI don’t think Eleanor will be mocked because of any photos I’ve posted. I’m mindful to not put anything embarrassing online. I’m also mindful of security. We will explain to Eleanor (and her teachers when she starts school) that someone may know her name even though they are a stranger.
Jess
March 30, 2010 at 5:29 amMeant to say I don’t agree about the point of kids bantering about old photos of each other. Don’t think you need to worry about anyone saying anything about pics of Eleanor when shes under two!!

March 30, 2010 at 6:53 amwow what a debate to start! I can see both sides, the security issue is valid, as I sell from home I choose not to blog with pictures of my children as my address has to be more public, but regarding any mocking- just having a baby picture online is hardly embarassing, and children can find anything innocent a source of teasing so you should hardly stop expressing your love for them just because they might get teased for it one day! It does seem like Dominic is perhaps a teen or still thinking like one with as few adults would be so touchy about school teasing or the spinach story, such types of stories are rarely mentioned once the child is old enough to be bothered as few parents really try to embarass their children.
I think the photo idea is very special, my mother took photos or her 4 children when they were aged 2 and then her 11 grandchildren too, and we now have a special gallery tracing our history of family likenesses, which is very touching to me as a parent.
sorry to ramble on so!
Jess
March 30, 2010 at 7:10 amTotally agree.
No worries on the mocking front – all kids will find something to mock about!
Agree the photo idea is cute :)
Just thought no harm thinking about the security issue. I’m sure you’ve thought it through Nicole and figured its ok.

March 30, 2010 at 7:54 amI can’t believe how quickly she has grown… seems just a week ago I found your blog and saw the first picture! With two little ones of my own, I say keep being a proud mama, and don’t worry about the pics online, she will treasure the fact that you loved her enough to take a TON of pictures {coming from another picture-aholic}

March 30, 2010 at 8:48 amI can’t believe what a smile it brings to my face to see that little doll each month. Touching her little toes – how sweet is that?
