- Why aren’t new matchboxes this pretty? (above)
- Is Miette as wonderful as I imagine it to be? Judging by their latest cookies (inspired by their wallpapered walls), I’d say yes.
- I kinda want to live here too.
- I love everything about this four-to booth birthday!
- Need some storage bins and baskets for your Expedit? Here are some good options.
- John and Sherry finished their nursery!
- I care about this alot. (via Gwen Bell)
- I was reminded recently of the genius that is Garfield Minus Garfield.
- Thank you, surprises. (And curse words and dirty words, and my heart…)

April 30, 2010 at 2:46 pmIt’s hard to find matchboxes like that now. I’ve seen some of them like those during a trip to Asia. So cute.

April 30, 2010 at 3:18 pmI absolutely love Miette. I live in SF and love going down to the ferry building just take a peek at their shop and have one of their many delicious treats. They have some of the most amazing caramels and fantastic macarons.
They also have beautiful cake stands.

May 1, 2010 at 1:08 amI live within spittin’ distance of Miette’s downtown address.
Yeah, they’re pretty fab but, and call me jaded, not that much better than the enclave you’re creating.
Seriously! You CAN make everything they sell. It’s just easier and prettier to buy it from them. And, I repeat myself, they’ve got nothing on you stylewise. I think you can chalk up your envy to their good web designer.

May 1, 2010 at 3:03 ammiette is wonderful!! their stores are so detailed and they clearly thought everything through in regards to decor. their cakes are very good as well as the cookies. especially the ginger cookies. you should definitely check them out! if you are in the bay area check out both the ferry building location and the hayes valley location (which also features candy!) :)

May 1, 2010 at 5:08 amThe Miette cookies are divine! Is it wrong to consider redecorating just to match some cookies?
Thanks also for the link to the four-to booth birthday – wow, what a creative mummy that little girl has! Absolutely amazing :)
And lastly, I absolutely LOVE Hyperbole & a half; Allie is so incredibly funny, it’s like all the neurotic thoughts you have that you would never verbalise, this girl not only expresses in a wonderfully humourous manner but also DRAWS PICTURES to match. Utterly genius.
Thanks for sharing! xxx

May 2, 2010 at 10:26 pmI’m totally going to check out Miette baked goods, and I’ll let you know. I live in the Bay Area, and have been inside the shop and checked it out, but didn’t know all about it! THey have the cutest trinkets and vintage plates, etc. My favorite were the really tall candles for birthday cakes.
I saw on the website that they offer classes, and I’m going to take the sugar cookie decorating class!

May 3, 2010 at 2:51 pmHey, those are hungarian matchboxes. I was working for a hungarian auction company, they had a lot of them for a very low price.
Anyone interested?

May 5, 2010 at 2:52 pmMiette is amazing! The Old Fashioned cake is one of the most delicious cakes I have ever consumed – and it’s so cute & simple. It’s one of many things I miss about California!
