…that my dining room will be half as beautiful as this one when I’m finished painting the trim and the ceiling.
Isn’t it gorgeous? And see, I told you those Eames chairs with dowel legs get me every time.
Thank you, Kate, for telling me about that room!

I’m obsessed with those chairs, too. Can’t wait to see how your room turns out.
RobbynSeptember 14, 2010 at 12:27 pm
I don’t normally like Eames chairs (don’t hate me!), but they really work here. Love it!
I’m sure yours will be even better.
JaneSeptember 14, 2010 at 12:31 pm
OM to the G!! It is so lovely! I love those chairs as well. I am sure your dining room will be just as gorgeous with a painted trim. I am quite envious of your built-in! Can’t wait to see the finished product!

HO-LY crap. (pardon my french) It looks soooo freakin good. The wallpaper looks awesome against the white trim and hutch.

I’m pretty sure that’s graham and brown wallpaper. If not, they have similar, I almost used it in my kitchen.

Ah, My Dear Grandma’s Living Room Walls! This paper is
by Jane Churchill. Beautiful.
Thank you Nicole, for giving us inspiration to make
our own loveliness.
Scout DSeptember 14, 2010 at 4:58 pm
I got some lovely chairs just like that for $55 each at Interior Express Outlet in Chicago.
CherieSeptember 14, 2010 at 5:14 pm
Why not go with your basement stackable chairs? They have the roundness of the Eames, and what’s more, they’re free!
jbhatSeptember 14, 2010 at 6:39 pm
At first glance, I thought that WAS your dining room. It really is gorgeous, this one, and yours will be just as lovely. Can’t wait to see!
OonafeySeptember 14, 2010 at 8:15 pm
This could totally BE your dining room! I love it. Can’t wait to see your finished product!

Just dont change your wallpaper. I am absolutely in love with it. To be honest, thats what made me read your entire blog. I love that paper..

I feel your pain about the chairs. I’ve loved the armless shell chair for about a decade and STILL want them for my dining room. BUT, I see them everywhere – AT house tours, every magazine, etc. So, for whatever strange reason, I feel like that makes them less special, but I still want them! Maybe I am worried they are a “trendy” think and will look dated in 5 years. But I think they are just a classic and timeless design and I tell myself if I’ve liked them all these years, I’ll continue to do so if I ever cave in and get them!
kristinSeptember 15, 2010 at 3:24 pm
before i read the post (yes, i’m one of THOSE people who scan, then read) i was certain this WAS your place. ha! i’m thinking your room will look just as lovely
citydwellerSeptember 15, 2010 at 4:31 pm
Beautiful photo. The eclectic mix of traditional, modern, and rustic elements add just the right amount of interest within a soothing palette. Good luck with your dining room!
NicoleSeptember 16, 2010 at 3:38 am
I did a double take when I first got to your page. The Farm house table with the Eames chairs with dowel legs is brilliant, but I would love to see these with your table!I cant wait to see how the trim comes out!
Suzie @ cupcake monkeySeptember 16, 2010 at 12:57 pm
That IS a great dining room. I am sure yours will be even more lovely, though! :)
AlanaSeptember 16, 2010 at 8:00 pm
I’m so glad to see this pic. I have a beautiful Danish modern credenza and just picked up a ginormous rustic dining table the other day and was really not seeing how they were going to go together and what chairs would work.
I guess the lesson is that if you love it all, it will all work together. :)
Great inspiration pic. Now you’re gonna have to start saving up for those chairs!
MonoiSeptember 17, 2010 at 1:55 pm
I just had to say, you have great taste :D

Looks great! I too love those chairs, and I just scored the best bargain ever.. ok so mine aren’t genuine Eames, but I got the same ones for $80nz (on sale).. which is probably just over $70US, on sale. SO PLEASED with myself. Have been lusting after more expensive ones for soooo long!! More pics please :)
LaurinDecember 8, 2010 at 2:30 pm
I LOOOOVE those chairs.
I’m wondering if you know of where I can find a ‘knock-off’ version, for a less expensive price. I know,,,,bad bad bad. I NEED them for my kitchen!
And I also love this wall-paper.
Do you have any good sources for wall-paper? I’m wanting to do a small project in my kitchen w/wallpaper.
