Ahh! That is too cute. And so glad that you took a photo; I am sure it will be a memory that you won’t want to forget!
My son (who is almost 2) likes to pick out his own outfits these days….but he usually goes with a red striped shirt (long sleeve, even if it’s 100 degrees outside) and bright orange shorts.
I can’t wait until Claire (1y.) starts doing that. My middle one, Cole who is now 6, loves to pick out his clothes. It’s my favorite when it’s all a big mix-mash of patterns.
Ah…to be a child again! It works for her! I’m LOVING the froggy boots :)
She is so pretty and has such personality.

I love it when kids pick out their own clothes, it’s such a neat window into their personality! All the kids I’ve cared for have loved to dress themselves – one six year old always wanted to wear a skirt, even if she was already wearing a dress over some trousers! (That one got vetoed because of the amount of laundry.)
We sometimes look back at old pictures and chastise my mother for letting us look so crazy but she always reminds us that we chose that outfit and how she never wanted to force us to wear something matching or cut our hair a certain way.
This brightened my morning! I love seeing what kids come up with on their own. She’s definitely color coordinating – matching her hat & shoes, socks & shirt.
She did a great job! When my mum let me choose my own outfits, my dad would always ask, “You’re taking her out of the house like that?!” The women that worked at my daycare, however, upon my entrance exclaim, “Jessica dressed herself today! You did such a great job!”
My go to outfit was always a pink bodysuit/tutu combo and my snow boots. Nothing screams grace like a ballerina in snow boots.
Both of my kids (2 & almost 4) love picking out their clothes and have put together some pretty awesome outfits. Rain boots (currently fireman boots for Sam and hello kitty boots for Maisie) and various hats figure prominently into a lot of their looks .
awwww that is a-DOR-able!!!! :) She sure can work it!

My 3yr old niece does it we live in Florida and one day she put on a cute polka dot sundress (she loves all things polka dot)and these super duper thick white tights over her Ariel pj shorts (she proudly said wanted to keep them on) and sandals on the wrong feet of course. It was adorable but seeing as it was 90+ degrees we had to make her take off the tights lol.
How cute! I think she did a pretty good job. Just last week, my 2.5 year old son had his first ever
pick out my own clothes’ day. too funny!

Eleanor has such great taste! My daughter started choosing her own clothes after 3 years old, and her outfits don’t usually look this good. It’s always prints with prints and more prints! It’s fun though.

Wonderful children-wonderful parents. You all have such great smiles, full of genuine happiness.
Love this! Usually when I see girls dressed like this, they are with their dads and their hairdos are adorably crooked…and I think, “Dad let her dress herself!”. I recall being quite particular about choosing my clothes at a young age, and I know I looked fabulous.
