Me Elle DeGore DTKindler Photography I never know how to pose for pictures, let alone pictures of me in my roller derby gear. Angry face? Tried it. I’m not tough! So a wink it is. *Wink!* I’m such a dork. On December 5, 2011 39 You Might Also Like... You look fantastic. One of my clients is an original flat track rollergirl from Austin, TX. She wrote the book Rollergirl: Totally True Tales From the Flat Track. She’s PERFECTED the mean tough face (but is in reality a total sweetheart). Reply Cinthya December 5, 2011 at 4:42 pm You look awesome. I love the wink. It makes the picture look like a lot of fun. Reply meg December 5, 2011 at 4:55 pm I LOVE this picture! You look great. Fun tights too. That name is he-larious. Reply Helen December 5, 2011 at 5:22 pm a bone crunching, elbow bashing, floor shredding dork. I totally love it! What a great alter ego! Reply Bobbi December 5, 2011 at 5:27 pm Um, you don’t have to have a tough face, when you are in roller derby! That’s intimidation enough, in my mind. :) Reply Erin December 5, 2011 at 5:41 pm You look so much like Eleanor in this picture! Reply Giulia December 5, 2011 at 6:00 pm Love it! Even the track is pink to match. Reply m @ random musings December 5, 2011 at 6:08 pm what an awesome alter ego! Reply Heather December 5, 2011 at 6:51 pm AWESOME! Hey dorks of the world unite! You have fabulous design with the occasional roller derby, Storm Troopers and zombie-attack wedding photos thrown in. What more could you ask for in a blog? Love it, I do! (there’s some Yoda for ya.) BTW, my fourteen-year-old son has determined that Home Depot is the best place to be in a zombie apocalypse just so you’re prepared… Now that I think of it, you could have an interesting roller-derby in Home Depot too… Reply Making it Lovely December 6, 2011 at 11:46 pm :) Reply Anna December 5, 2011 at 7:50 pm I’m with Erin; you look just like your daughter–or more accurately, I can really see that she looks like you when I look at this picture. Reply Carla December 5, 2011 at 9:12 pm So cute! The wink works! Reply Michelle December 5, 2011 at 11:11 pm Love the picture! I think the wink works. I usually go for a half smile/smirk in my headshots. I always look like such a dork in game pictures. Either my mouth is open and all you can see is mouth guard or the photographer catches me in mid-blink. Did you get a chance to watch the final game in the World Cup yesterday? Although Team USA spanked Team Canada, I’m still really proud of the way my country’s team played. Michelle (aka Veronica Mar) Reply Making it Lovely December 6, 2011 at 11:47 pm I took my mouth guard out for the pictures! I saw some of the early bouts, but I wasn’t able to catch the final ones. I bet it was great fun to watch. Reply The Distressed Mother December 5, 2011 at 11:48 pm How awesome was the World Cup? With personal friends and team mates in Team Australia, it made it extra exciting. TDM xx (Tootsie RollHer) Reply Danielle December 6, 2011 at 7:15 am My mom always said, kill em with kindness. So the wink works lol. Reply Cecilia December 6, 2011 at 8:22 am You are a rockin dork! Reply Kristin December 6, 2011 at 8:22 am You look great! I love the tights. Reply Lindsey @ arkadian belle woods December 6, 2011 at 8:49 am That’s awesome! I love those hot pink tights! Reply Melissa December 6, 2011 at 9:22 am Love love love. I wish I had the guts to do roller derby! Reply Dee's House December 6, 2011 at 11:49 am Now see.. I just don’t get it. You do look cute as all get out, but I don’t get the whole roller derby thing. It seems like a lot of aggression to me. Reply Making it Lovely December 6, 2011 at 11:50 pm I like a little competition now and then, more than aggression. But we don’t scrimmage much — I’m focused on improving my skating skills. Reply fifi fo fum December 6, 2011 at 2:47 pm AWESOME! I’ve been following your blog since before you had Eleanor, and I LOVE that you’re playing derby now. Isn’t it amazing? :) Reply Leone December 6, 2011 at 6:52 pm But you’re such a cute dork and DORKS RULE! Reply Sara December 6, 2011 at 9:59 pm Nothing wrong with being dorkie. I make my bout debut this weekend and I’m so excited. How’s your training? Reply Making it Lovely December 6, 2011 at 11:51 pm I’m not getting better as quickly as I’d like, but I can’t devote more than once a week to it (and I’ve missed some weeks lately too). Reply Jennifer December 6, 2011 at 11:41 pm Okay, I feel like an idiot, but I have to ask about your name. I’m assuming it’s some kind of play on words, but I can’t figure out what it’s referring to? (I have a feeling I’m going to feel really dumb once it’s explained…) Reply Making it Lovely December 6, 2011 at 11:44 pm Elle Decor, the shelter magazine. Melissa thought of it! Reply GirlsGoneChild December 7, 2011 at 11:07 am I am obsessed with you. You are darling x infinity. Reply Sara Rose December 7, 2011 at 12:22 pm I’ll admit that I’m not cut out to be a roller derby princess but my inner goddess TOTALLY WISHES I WERE. Oh and I am SERIOUSLY COVETING THE TIGHTS. You look fabulous! Reply lindsay December 8, 2011 at 9:29 am AH! This picture is perfect. I love the wink. And good on ya for being such a bad ass Roller Girl!
