“Let’s consider the most versatile piece of punctuation — the dash. That’s right — I’m talking about the horizontal line formed by typing two hyphens in a row. It’s the mark that — unlike commas, periods, semicolons and all the others — doesn’t seem to be subject to any rules.” (Continue reading…)
— Ben Yagoda, Mad Dash: How to Use the Dash in Writing
(I once included my love for and overuse of the em dash in my bio — because somehow that would help people know more about me?)
Kate Spade announced a new brand: Saturday. It looks pretty fantastic.
Plaid pants for boys. They’re either “oi!” or “ow, my back!” — I can’t be sure.

On second thought… bring on the color!
Because it’s awesome. [via Gawker]

Always love these, must read about the dash, I believe I use it in every post, probably committing more crimes against grammar–uh-oh!

Hah! Tom Hanks made it into my weekly roundup too. I love him oh so much. In fact, we watched a totally depressing movie on Saturday night and I needed to watch this again as a cheer-up buffer.
Also, the new Kate Spade line looks fantastic. Just another reason to get excited for the spring.

Thank you so much for the article on the em dash- that and the ellipsis are my favorite.
