We saw the first designs featuring the Lincoln and Dhurrie armchairs last week. I wanted to keep them very similar to show how one can get the same look by just changing a few things, but today the chairs are going their separate merry ways. Both feature the black, white, wood, and brass trend, but with more color than we may have been seeing on Pinterest lately. (Everything seems to be pretty minimal in my feed over there! Yours, too?)
I don’t think anyone would actually own two chairs that are essentially the same shape with different fabric, but my goal here is to show two designs that look like they belong in the same person’s home. Speaking of which, our fictional friend, Marie, has moved from her apartment into a place of her own! A two-bedroom condo with the extra room functioning as an office. She’s traveling a lot for her job and doesn’t work from home all that often, but she’s happy to have a dedicated spot for it when she is in town. She’s also happy to come home to a cheery, if perhaps a bit girly, space.

August 20, 2014 at 1:22 pmHey! Looks like the numbers are cut off in the second column (such that 11 is 1, etc). I was really confused there for a minute! Also, I love these posts and am glad to have clicked through, lots of items I’m going to look at more closely!

August 20, 2014 at 4:47 pmYou are a decorating genius. I love what you create and I get a chuckle out of how different the style when we bought our present day furniture in the late eighties. Wing back chairs colors brown burgundy and blue-Williamsburg blue of course. But you should have seen our sixties group. Bought with little money and no decorating skills. We had a fuzzy brown modern couch and chair. The arms were large enough to sit on. If you can imagine a square like arm raised from horizontal to maybe a 30 or 40 degree angle that was our couch. We had a cheap plastic coffee table in the kidney shape and a chair that I see now. Kind of a circle pushed in to create a seat. OyVey!

August 21, 2014 at 12:56 amI just wanted to comment on how much I like the direction your blog had been taking in the last year-ish. Obviously tastes evolve but I feel like your blog has become so much more approachable and diverse in both design and content. Thank you.
