I am not loyal to a shampoo. I don’t care whether my conditioner costs $4 or $40. But this? It’s my hair’s secret weapon.
I have flat, straight hair that needs to be washed every day to look clean. Susan at Sparrow recommended it, and while I wasn’t too sure (oil?), I tried it. It’s amazing. I know I don’t talk about beauty products on the blog, but I must extol the virtues of Moroccan Oil. It has left my hair looking so healthy, and not greasy at all. Have any of you tried it? I bet it would be fantastic for curly hair.

February 17, 2010 at 9:32 pmI love this stuff!!! It makes my fine, curly hair so soft and shiny. I’ve been making my husband use it too, and it has really helped his course hair. My favorite way to use it is to add a dropper-ful to my glob of conditioner in the shower. The scent is so intoxicating…I wish they made a fragrance or body oil.

February 17, 2010 at 9:49 pmI have absolute masses of very thick, coarse, wavy hair and Moroccan Oil has been an absolute god send. Left to it’s own devices my hair can take hours and hours to dry, but after smoothing in a quarter sized amount and I can dry it in minutes with no frizz. It is genius. And it does smell delicious.

My daughter’s birthday present to me this week was a hair cut at a hairdresser I’d never been to before, and the hairdresser was telling me all about the Morocon Oil, how good it was ect., so I bought a bottle. I love it! I don’t think I’ve tried an oil product for hair as good as this. And yes, it smells beautiful.

I’m a nerd.

Plus my hair is in such great shape – my stylist tells me every time I go in how healthy my hair is. Since I blow dry and flat iron every day, that’s also tough to accomplish.

I have thick, curly, coarse, colored hair = DRY. The oil made my hair a giant fluffy ball of fuzz. It was soft, but my hair has never been this kind of ginormous! If it wasn’t so comical it would have been scary. Thank goodness it was the end of the day and I was only going home!
Best thing for my type of hair is to not shampoo it. No shampoo at all, and to condition the heck out of it. I use 2-3 tablespoons of conditioner daily to keep things in control.

I mentioned it to my stylist (who also used this product) and she said she was breaking out too. We both stopped using the oil and our blemishes cleared up.

Not so great: where it comes from.
Apparently the oil is derived from a nut only goats can reach. So the nut is retrieved undigested… from…goat poop. Goat poop extract…in your hair. But whatever I guess, it makes my hair awesome.

I just use a tiny amount when my hair is still fairly damp and then go on styling as usual. (Plus, it smells really good!)

February 18, 2010 at 9:30 amThis sounds like something I need to try. I have weirdly half-wavy, half-straight, super-thick hair that gets puffy the minute it grows half an inch. I was using an anti frizz serum that was awesome (and cheap!) that I can no longer find. The new serum that I bought leaves my hair feeling crunchy. I actually use a mixture of olive oil and castor oil to wash my face, so why not use oil in my hair!

Here’s a tip- The main ingredient is Argan oil so if you’re looking for a natural alternative, buy organic Argan oil. You can use it on your hair, skin, nails, etc. BUT it STINKS! My husband calls it the baby poop stuff. :)

February 18, 2010 at 2:05 pmactually, I did a little research and the main ingredient of Moroccan Oil is _not_ argan oil, which makes up less than 2% of the ingredients. The main ingredients are various silicones, i.e. dimethicone, etc.

I was skeptical of using oil on my hair but its great…just rub a *tiny* drop into your wet hair. It is a bit expensive, but the bottle lasts forever. Bonus…it smells divine and the bottle looks adorable on my bathroom shelf.

February 23, 2010 at 12:45 pmI’ve never used Moroccan oil, but I used to use coconut oil in my hair all the time. If you can stand the strong smell of coconut while you use it, just slap a bunch in your hair a while before you shampoo, and it leaves your hair soft and smooth and shiny. ^_^

March 3, 2010 at 10:50 amOkay, I know it is an old post. But I just have to say, have you ever tried argan products (a.k.a moroccan oil) for the face? They are really the best! I started using an argan face cream after a visiting a spa where I got a treatment with argan oil. My skin got so smooth and glowing after using the cream. Then I stopped using the cream for awhile. And my skin lost that silk feeling and glow. Now I bought a day cream, night cream and a skin booster all with argan oil. I love love love these products! Haven’t tried it on my hair yet, even if it’s said on the skin booster that you can. Will do know though!

It’s the exact same ingredients as the $40 and up bottle, just not the Moroccan Oil name. Sally’s markets it as Argan oil. I use this product everyday and bought my bottle back in December. I have 1/2 the bottle left. A little dab will do ya. It’s amazing and smells awesome.
