On skates! I had my first Derby Lite session on Saturday. I’m pretty bad, but I’m confident that I’ll get better with practice. Now I just need a roller derby name…

As for derby names, check http://www.twoevils.org/rollergirls. They post all of the registered names. Since no 2 names can be the same, it’s a great place to check before submitting your preferences. The names on there can be pretty inspiring too. Good luck! I can’t wait to hear what name you pick!

May 17, 2011 at 4:01 amRoller Derby is great fun with a fantastic community of women. Be warned though it is utterly addictive as much for the sport as it is for the new friends it brings. We have some amazing super Mums in our league (Adelaide Roller Derby) who are incredible. I really dont know how they juggle children, work, relationships and roller derby!
Which league are you training with? Good luck picking a name. I suggest thinking about what your eventual nickname will be as your name will always get shortened and thats what you’ll always get called. A friend’s derby name is Bootlegger Lily but she always gets called Booty.
