Shop Room Essentials to make modern life easier.
I’m all for great design that’s accessible and affordable, so I’m happy to be sharing some of my favorites today from the Target Room Essentials line. The pieces below would mix with a huge range of styles, making it easy to incorporate each item into your home and really make it your own.
-
Gooseneck Desk Lamp
Such a cute little desk lamp, and it comes in black, gray, pink, blue, yellow, or white. -
Large Coiled Rope Baskets
Just one of these would look great on its own, but I love the look of the three together. -
Plus Sign Bath Rug
The black and white palette makes it easy to use this bath rug in most bathrooms, and the design is simple but with a nice graphic punch! -
Wood Pole Scholar Lighting
So digging these. How cute would a floor lamp and table lamp in different colors look in the same room? -
6 Drawer Dresser
This one comes in three colors, and the angled feet are a small but noticeable style upgrade over the chunky blocks you usually find on affordable furniture.
p.s. I just helped my sister choose new bedding and we went with this quilt and sham set, which is the best yellow. I want her to add some of the lamps from above into her bedroom too!

July 22, 2014 at 1:09 pmI love this collection. Since winter I’ve bought 3 of those desk lamps, and two table lamps, and two stools when, I dunno, maybe I didn’t really need them. But I was so thrilled to see stuff similar to things I’d pined after from West Elm or CB2 or something for so cheap. YES.

July 22, 2014 at 6:09 pmThey’re so good! If I hadn’t already found a lamp for Eleanor’s bedside table, I’d pick one of those up for her. Actually, I’m thinking of doing it anyway if we can find another spot for the lamp she’s got now.

July 22, 2014 at 1:51 pmWow, I think those Pole Scholar lamps are really the star of the show here. I also loooove the quilt you helped your sister choose, I am tempted to buy the teal one!

July 22, 2014 at 5:26 pmI used to love this blog. So many posts are sponsored now and I no longer see your unique style. Rather, just whatever is available from suppliers who agree to sponsor a post. Sad

July 22, 2014 at 6:07 pmI’m sorry you feel that way. I’m proud of the work that I do with sponsors, and am glad I’m able to support the blog by partnering with companies I like and use myself (and even my sister, too, in this case!).

July 22, 2014 at 6:04 pmI use that black and white stripe rope coil basket to corral frequently used summer sandals in my entryway. It looks good with a pair of red Hunter wellington boots next to it.

July 22, 2014 at 7:41 pmMy whole purpose in following your kind of blog is to find suggestions for Décor that are stylish but budget friendly. Everything we have was purchased somewhere and costs money and probably involved an effort by the store to bring their wares to the attention of prospective buyers. I have encountered this accusatory tone on other blogs and I just don’t get it? The time and effort it takes to create the blog should be compensated or the bloggers will soon grow tired of the effort and then what would we do for funny blogs with adorable families and terrific houses? TV seems to be risqué or blowing stuff up and I can only read for so long before I fall asleep. I love Blogs, Bloggers and I hope you all become millionaires…………

Making it Lovely
July 22, 2014 at 9:26 pmI’m remodeling the second floor right now, and before that I shared a design plan for the bathroom, discussed wallpaper options for the dining room, shared the finished playroom, decorated the front porch and discussed possible future options for it, had floor-to-ceiling bookshelves installed with a rolling library ladder, did our front entry, and have been sharing bits of our double parlors and bedrooms as they go along. And that’s just what’s been going on with the house itself, not including any other design ideas I’ve put together and shared!
I’m sorry if you missed or don’t recall them, but I do hope you’ll stick around. The beginning half of this pregnancy left me exhausted, but I feel well now and am excited about all of the upcoming designs I’ll be working on.

July 23, 2014 at 6:45 amAw, mannnnn. I hate it when huge retailers do this! I love all of these items, like seriously love. But the rug is too uncomfortably close to Pia Wallen’s signature design to not be called a copycat. :(
