I’m upgrading the server. Some of my systems (MySQL, Apache, CentOS, and PHP) were so old they were approaching end of life, so I’m migrating. Two to five days from now it should be done?
I’m upgrading the house. The last of the light switches (on the third floor) are being replaced. August’s room has been patched up and will be getting a fresh coat of paint. The guest room is getting some attention. The back stairs still need tending to. The kitchen windows got new inserts. The access beneath the roof has a new panel. Little things, but they add up. Two to five days from now it… hahaha. It won’t all be done. But it will have been started!
I’m making resolutions too, so I guess I’m also upgrading myself. I’m taking time to dream and make plans, and just to think. I’ve been going, going, going, mostly behind the scenes stuff, and this forced break while the site undergoes maintenance is actually coming at a good time.
Heading out of 2016, I leave you with this delightful Victorian imagery that I have only doctored to update the years. Charming! And maybe kind of appropriate?
Thank you, to all of you, for being here. I am so grateful to be able to share this space with you, and I’m so looking forward to being back up and running again soon. Happy new year! 2017, here we come.

December 31, 2016 at 10:45 pmThat is a super-creepy image! The outstretched hand feebly warding off certain doom! The feet already sticking out of the cauldron! And the chicken-headed sledders for your holiday banner, too. I admire your ability to locate these stylistically charming yet truly weird illustrations.
